Indian customer’s growing love for SUVs serves as the perfect reason for the manufacturers to line-up their products during this time frame. Here are top five ravishing SUVs that will launch in next 2 weeks.

Tata Nexon

Launch: 21st September

Tata will step into the highly competitive sub 4-metre compact SUV in India with the launch of Nexon. The newest product from Tata will take on the rivals like Ford EcoSport and Maruti Vitara Brezza in the market. The Nexon will also mark the debut of Tata’s new petrol and diesel engines in the market.

The subcompact SUV is powered by an all-new 1.5-litre diesel engine that produces a maximum power of 108 Bhp and 260 Nm of torque. The petrol engine is a turbocharged 1.2-litre engine that generates 180 Bhp – 170 Nm. Both the engines will come mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Tata will also introduce AMT version at a later date. The car is expected at a price of Rs. 6.5 lakh, ex-showroom.

Maruti S-Cross

Launch: 28th September

Maruti Suzuki will update its first Nexa product soon. The crossover will get many visual changes like a new grille, LED DRLs with projector headlamps and new bumper to give it a fresh look. At the rear, the vehicle gets a new tail lamp cluster. The car also gets similar features as the current model.

The biggest change in the S-Cross will be the SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki). Maruti has now dropped the 1.6-litre engine from the portfolio and the new S-Cross will only come with 1.3-litre SHVS engine similar to the Ciaz and the Ertiga. The 1.3-litre diesel engine will produce 89Bhp-200 Nm and will boast of a maximum fuel efficiency of 25.1 km/l. The prices are expected to be at around Rs. 9 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.

Skoda Kodiaq

Launch: 4th October

Skoda will re-enter the SUV segment in India with the Kodiaq. The Chezch carmaker will launch the flagship vehicle that will be positioned above Skoda Superb in India. The Kodiaq will be powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine that generates a maximum of 140 Bhp, which is same as the Volkswagen Tiguan.

The Kodiaq comes equipped with a long list of features like LED headlamps, LED tail lamps and LED foglamps. The car also gets automatic door protector. There is also a touch-sensitive infotainment that gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The Kodiaq is expected to carry a price tag of around Rs. 27 lakh.

Renault Captur

Launch: 1st week of October

The much-awaited vehicle from Renault will be officially unveiled on 21st September in India. Renault has already released an official teaser of the vehicle and it will come with many interesting features. To start with, there will be LED headlamps with LED indicators and C-shaped LED DRLs. The car will also get LED tail lamp cluster.

The Captur will be positioned above Renault Duster in the market. It will be powered by the tried and tested K9K 1.5-litre diesel engine that is also offered on the Duster. The power figures and the transmission options are not known yet. The Captur is a five-seater SUV and will compete against the XUV 500 in terms of pricing.

Ford EcoSport

Launch: 2nd week of October

Ford will launch the facelift version of the EcoSport in October. The refreshed EcoSport will help Ford to gain lost numbers in the market. The new EcoSport gets a bigger grille that now takes over the smaller grille slat in the current generation EcoSport. The car will also get reworked headlamps and fog lamps to give it a muscular look.

The EcoSport will also get all-new SYNC3 infotainment system that gets touch-sensitive infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The car also gets all-new Dragon series petrol engines that will replace the current 1.5-litre petrol engine. The diesel engine is expected to remain same.
