Maruti Suzuki, the largest car manufacturer in India enjoys an unprecedented lead over the other manufacturer. Maruti Suzuki is one of the oldest manufacturers that is still operating in the Indian market and they understand the market extremely well. With the changing market scenario, Maruti Suzuki will update its line-up with new models and products in the coming times. According to ACI, Maruti Suzuki is working to launch an all-new MPV and a mid-size SUV in the market too. Here are five cars that will be launched in the coming times.
Maruti Suzuki S-Cross
Launch: August 2020
Maruti Suzuki has started accepting the official bookings for the updated S-Cross and it will be launched in the first week of August. The S-Cross will get a petrol engine for the first time ever and Maruti Suzuki will also offer a Smart Hybrid technology, which will ensure good fuel efficiency. The new S-Cross will look similar to the previous version but it will get an updated list of features, which includes a new SmartPlay infotainment system too. It is expected to be priced slightly lower than the current model since it will get a petrol engine.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny
Maruti Suzuki showcased the extremely popular Jimny at 2020 Auto Expo to gauge the response from the market and it did receive an overwhelming response. The Jimny that will be launched in India will be different from the international version. Maruti Suzuki will launch an LWB version with five-doors. The Jimny will get powered by the 1.5-litre K-Series petrol engine and will be launched as a niche product in the market.
Suzuki and Toyota’s global partnership will launch a lot of new cars in the international markets. In India, we have already seen the Glanza based on the Baleno and soon, which is Toyota’s version of the Vitara Brezza will be launched too. Both the brand will work to launch a new mid-size SUV that will take on the likes of Kia Seltos and newly launched Hyundai Creta in the Indian market. The all-new SUV will get powered by the 1.5-litre engine and will be available with the only 2WD option. It will be launched in 2022.
Maruti Suzuki and Toyota will also work on a C-Segment MPV that will be positioned above the Ertiga and XL6 in the market. It will undercut the price of the Toyota Innova and will be based on Toyota’s B560 platform. The new MPV will fill the gap between the Ertiga and the Innova Crysta in the market. Since the popularity of the MPV is on the rise, it will be an interesting product.
Maruti Alto 800
Maruti Suzuki is also working on a model that will replace the most-affordable product in the model line-up – the Alto 800. It will be based on the HEARTECT platform that underpins the S-Presso and will get an 800cc, three-cylinder engine. The car will get Maruti Suzuki’s latest infotainment set-up with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and will be launched sometime in 2021.
