Many manufacturers are gearing up to launch their new vehicles. Some cars would be showcased this month or they have already have been revealed by the manufacturer but, the prices are not yet announced. Today, we list down 6 cars that will be launching in early 2022.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno Facelift
India’s largest automobile manufacturer is working on a facelift of the Baleno. Maruti Suzuki is doing well in the premium hatchback segment but now the competition has become stiffer. So, they will be finally updating the Baleno. The new facelift of the Baleno has already been spotted that too without camouflage.

The 2022 Baleno looks sharper than before. It gets new headlamps and tail lamps. The feature list will also increase. Baleno will still be offered only with a petrol engine. There should be a manual gearbox as well as an automatic transmission on offer.
Toyota Hilux
It has been a while since Toyota has launched a new vehicle that belongs to them. The last new vehicle that was developed by them was the Yaris mid-size sedan which now has been discontinued. Now, Toyota will be launching the Hilux which is a pick-up truck based on the Fortuner and Innova Crysta. It is expected to launch in January of 2022.
Hilux will be positioned as a more premium alternative to the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross. It is based on the IMV-2 platform and will measure 5.3-metres in length. The wheelbase measure more than 3-metres in length.
The engine will be shared with the Fortuner. So, it will be a 2.8-litre diesel engine that produces 204 PS of max power and 500 Nm of peak torque. There will also be four-wheel drive on offer.
Citroen C3
Citroen has already showcased the C3 globally. It is developed specifically for developing markets and is expected to go on sale in India in early 2022. Just like other Citroens, C3 also looks funky and comes with a unique interior.
It is based on the CMP platform which stands for Common Modular Platform. C3 will come only with a petrol engine and will be able to run on flex fuels. It will be rivalling the Tata Punch, Maruti Suzuki Ignis and Mahindra KUV100.
Skoda Slavia
Skoda’s second product under INDIA 2.0 Strategy will be the Slavia. It has already been revealed and Skoda is also accepting pre-bookings for it. The deliveries and price reveal will have early next year.
Slavia is based on the MQB-A0-IN platform which is also being used on Kushaq and the Volkswagen Taigun. Slavia will be offered in two petrol engine options. There will be a 1.0-litre TSI and a 1.5-litre TSI. Both engines will be offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox or an automatic transmission.
Jeep Meridian
Jeep is working on a new full-size SUV. It will be called Meridian in India and is already sold in the foreign market as Commander. It is essentially a 3-row version of the Compass. The production of the right-hand version is expected to start by April 2022. The SUV is already being tested in India.
The engine is expected to be the same as the Compass. So, it will be the same 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine that will produce 170 PS of max power and 380 Nm of peak torque. it will be offered with a 9-speed automatic gearbox. There will also be a 4×4 system on offer.
Kia Carens
Kia’s fourth vehicle in the Indian market will be a MPV named Carens. Kia will unveil the Carens on December 16th and they will launch it in early 2022. Carens is designed to look like a SUV. Up-front there will be Y-shaped LED Daytime Running Lamps, split headlamp design and at the rear there will be LED tail lamps.
The interior will have an up-market look with a touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, digital instrument cluster, cruise control, multi-function steering wheel, air purifier and much more.
