7 highly anticipated cars coming in 2024: From Mahindra Thar 5-door to new Maruti Swift

As the automotive industry continues to evolve, car enthusiasts eagerly await the arrival of new models that push the boundaries of design, technology, and performance. In 2024, several leading automobile manufacturers are set to launch exciting vehicles that promise to captivate drivers worldwide. So without any further ado here is the list of all the highly anticipated cars coming next year in 2024.

Nissan Qashqai

The Japanese automotive giant Nissan, after being quiet in the Indian market for some time, will make a bang with the launch of the Nissan Qashqai, one of its popular compact SUVs in the international markets. Boasting a sleek and aerodynamic exterior, the Qashqai will offer a powerful driving experience. Under the hood, a range of efficient engine options is expected. The base model will likely feature a 1.3-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine, producing around 158 horsepower. Additionally, a hybrid powertrain might be available, combining a 1.5-liter petrol engine with an electric motor for improved fuel economy. It will likely be priced around Rs 25-30 lakh in India.

Hyundai Stargazer

The South Korean automaker Hyundai Motors India is getting ready to launch the Stargazer, an MPV based on the Kia Carens platform. The Stargazer is anticipated to come equipped with a range of engine options to suit different driving preferences. However, the exact engine specifications are yet unknown. It is believed that this new MPV could come equipped with the same 1.5-liter petrol, 1.4-liter turbo-petrol, and 1.5-liter diesel engines as the Creta. The MPV’s gearbox options are likely to be shared with the smaller SUV.

Mahindra Thar five-door

The five-door iteration of the Mahindra Thar is one of the most highly anticipated models for next year. However, the global debut of this model will take place in South Africa this year on August 15th. The Thar five-door will be the elongated iteration of the Thar 3-door and will come equipped with two additional doors in the middle. In terms of powertrains, the 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol and 2.2-liter diesel engines from the Thar 3-door will also be available in the 5-door Thar. Both manual and automated gearboxes will be compatible with these engines. The model will come with 4×4 and 4×2 drivetrains.

Maruti Suzuki Swift new-gen

The country’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, will most likely unveil the new generation of its beloved Swift hatchback sometime in the beginning of next year. Known for its sporty appeal and nimble handling, the Swift has won the hearts of countless drivers. The upcoming model is expected to feature an array of engine choices, including a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated engine and a 1.0-liter turbocharged engine. These powerplants are projected to deliver 83 and 109 horsepower, respectively.

Tata Curvv

Tata Motors’ first car to be launched in 2024 will be its coupe SUV Curvv. This will be one of the most unique offerings from the company and will boast a futuristic design that will inspire its following cars. The new design language, called the “New Digital design language” by Tata Motors, will include a new-looking grille and overall design lines on the vehicle and will be used on the Curvv. The Curvv will be initially offered with a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine, but it will also get a 40.5 kWh battery pack and EV drivetrain, which will be able to provide it with a range of around 400 km.

Nissan Juke

The dramatic-looking midsize SUV, which is expected to replace the aging Kicks in the Nissan India lineup, could be launched in 2024 in India. The Juke is currently in its second-generation avatar, which debuted back in 2019. Currently, the Nissan Juke is available with two engine options in overseas markets – the 1.6-liter four-cylinder naturally-aspirated 117 PS petrol engine and a 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbocharged 117 PS petrol engine. The Indian car market is expected to get the turbocharged petrol engine option, given the trend. The Nissan Juke might be offered two transmission options: a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic in India.

Mahindra XUV e8

The country’s largest utility vehicle manufacturer, Mahindra, will most likely introduce the XUV e8, an all-electric SUV based on the XUV700, in the country sometime next year. The XUV e8 is anticipated to feature an electric powertrain with a larger 60-80 kWh battery pack. This new battery pack will be significantly bigger than the 39.5 kWh battery of the XUV400. This upgraded battery pack is expected to provide a real-world range of 400-450 km. Once launched, this new EV SUV will compete with the likes of the Tata Harrier electric, which could also make its debut sometime next year.
