7 lakh Maruti Ertiga MPVs sold in 9 years: Why is everyone buying it

The Ertiga has been a hit in the Indian market since it was first launched. Now, Maruti Suzuki has sold almost 7 lakh units of the Ertiga. To be precise, till now 6,99,215 units have been sold till now. In FY2020 alone, Maruti sold 90,543 units of Ertiga. On average, 8,146 units of Ertigas are sold every month. Here, are a few reasons why everyone loves the Ertiga so much.

Ample amount of space

Ertiga’s cabin has an ample amount of space for its occupants. There is a good amount of legroom and shoulder room in the second row. Even three people can seat once in the second row. Usually, the third row of the vehicles is not so usable and only kids are able to travel in it. However, that is not the case with the Ertiga. The third row is enough for an average Indian to sit in it for short journeys. Having said that, tall people would not be able to fit in the third row.

Does not look like MPV

One thing that people do not like is that they do not want their vehicles to look like a minivan or MPV. Maruti Suzuki knew this and they shaped the Ertiga to look like a big hatchback instead. Even the interior looks good as it is finished in beige colour. This gives a feeling of airiness to the cabin. On the dashboard, there is a wooden finish that adds to the up-market look.

Feature equipped

Maruti Suzuki currently has the largest service network in our country. So, you should be able to find a service centre even if you are in a rural area. The engines of Maruti Suzuki are reliable so they do not break down often and even if they do and you are not near a service centre then a local mechanic should be able to provide you a temporary fix.
