7 reasons that make the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 an attractive buy

Maruti Suzuki launched the Alto K10 back in August 2010 and continues to sell it alongside the standard Alto 800cc. The Alto K10 like the standard has been selling in huge numbers. It offers more power and some more features. Here we take a closer look at the features that make the Alto an attractive option.

The Alto K10 is available in two variants, the LXI and the VXI which cost Rs. 3.04 lakh and Rs. 3.17 lakh respectively. It sports a 998 cc engine that produces 67 bhp of power at 6200 rpm and 90 Nm of torque at 3500 rpm.

 

Aggressive front: The Alto K10 saw minor changes in design compared to the regular Alto. The new sharp looking hawk eye  headlamps and tail lamps, the longer bonnet with character lines, the chrome accent on the grille all come together to give the Alto K10 a fresh new appeal.

Body coloured ORVMs: The Alto K10 also gets new body-colored outside rear view mirrors which give it a more premium feel. The mirrors are internally adjustable.

 

Refreshed rear: The Alto K10 sports re-designed tail lamps which look much better than the plain and bland rear of the regular Alto. The curved boot lid adds some character, although boot space has not been improved.

 

New Engine: The most important change in the Alto K10 was its all new K series engine. It has a 998 cc engine that makes 67 bhp of power at 6200rpm and 90 Nm of torque at 3500rpm. The K10 can do a dash to 100 in 13.3 seconds according to Maruti-Suzuki. That makes it comparable to the 0-100 kmph timings of some more expensive hatchbacks.

 

Refreshed interiors: The Alto k10 also sports front power windows, an essential feature that the regular Alto missed out on. The interiors have fabric on the door pads and the two-tone upholstery makes the car look more spacious than it actually is.

Steering wheel: The Alto K10 also has a sporty looking three-spoke steering wheel which houses the Suzuki logo in the centre.

 

Instrument cluster: The amber backlight, tachometer, digital fuel meter etc are all welcome features that make the K10 more attractive at its price. It gives the car a sporty feel.
