The interior of the upcoming XL6 is expected to get a bit more premium than the current one. So, there could be slightly updated upholstery, new dials and some new other bits and pieces. Currently, the XL6 is only offered with captain chairs. for the second row. So, it is a 6-seater MPV. The exterior could also get revised styling, tweaked front and rear bumpers.

Maruti Suzuki will also be updating the alloy wheel design of the XL6. The Ertiga is already the best selling MPV in the Indian market. It sells more units than the Toyota Innova Crysta and Mahindra Marazzo. The XL6 was introduced because there was a lot of Ertigas on the Indian roads. Ertiga is the most popular MPV and is sold as a commercial vehicle in huge numbers. So, people who wanted an MPV but did not want an Ertiga could go for XL6 as it looks more premium, up-market and crossover-like instead of looking like an MPV.

The upcoming XL6 would get the same engine and transmission options as the current one. So, there would be a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 103 PS of max power and a peak torque output of 138 Nm. The engine is offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. You can also get it with a 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission if you want the convenience of driving an automatic.
