The sales of SUVs are increasing consistently. Every manufacturer now has a SUV of some kind in their line-up. If they do not have one then they are working rigorously to develop one. Today, we list down 8 upcoming SUVs that will launch in 2022.
Hyundai Creta Facelift
Hyundai has launched the facelift of Creta in the international markets. It now looks like a younger sibling of Tucson that is sold in the international market. The current design of the Creta was a bit polarizing for a lot of people that is why Hyundai changed the design. Hyundai might also add some equipment to the Creta. However, mechanically it will stay the same.

Citroen C3
Citroen has already unveiled the C3 globally. It would make its way to India by mid of 2022. Citroen is already testing the C3 on Indian roads. It will be offered only with a petrol engine and it would be the first car in India to come with an engine that supports flex-fuel.
Tata Punch Turbo and Diesel
According to the rumours, Tata Motors will be launching the Punch with the turbocharged engine from the Altroz. The engine produces 110 PS of max power and 140 Nm of peak torque. It will come mated to only a 5-speed manual gearbox. The rumours suggest that Punch Turbo would launch sometime next year.

Recently, a Punch was spotted at a fuel pump filling diesel. Till now, Punch is only offered with a naturally aspirated petrol engine. So, Tata Motors is testing the Punch with a diesel engine. It is expected to be the same 1.5-litre diesel engine that is doing duty on the Altroz. It produces 90 PS of max power and 200 Nm of peak torque.
Maruti Suzuki S-Cross
Suzuki has launched the 2022 S-Cross in the global market. We are expecting that soon Maruti Suzuki will also launch the same SUV in the Indian market. The current S-Cross has not been able to make its mark in the market because it looks more like a crossover and also misses out on quite a bit of equipment. Suzuki has fixed the design and the new S-Cross looks like a SUV and has also added features. It is expected to go on sale sometime next year.
Suzuki Jimny 5-door
According to the recent rumours, Maruti Suzuki has greenlit Jimny for the Indian market. However, it will not be a three-door version. Instead, it will be a 5-door version which is currently under development and has been spotted once. The new SUV is expected to go on sale sometime next year.
Force Gurkha 4-door

Force recently launched the Gurkha in the Indian market. It is a hardcore off-roader and is sold as a three-door vehicle. Because of this, it is not very practical. The four-door Gurkha will be based on the updated version of the ladder frame chassis that will have a longer wheelbase. The design will mostly stay the same. Gurkha 4-door is expected to launch in late 2022.
All-new Maruti Brezza
Maruti Suzuki is working on an all-new Brezza. The interior and exterior have been heavily redesigned now. The spy shots have already revealed the exterior design of the compact SUV. This is a pretty heavy update so Maruti Suzuki will be adding a lot of new features so that it compete better in the segment. There will be no mechanical changes to the SUV.
