Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has moved on to Datsun, from Toyota, whose brand ambassador he was a few years ago. The movie star will now appear in Datsun car advertisements as the brand’s latest ambassador for the Indian market. The announcement of Aamir Khan as the new Datsun brand ambassador comes at a time when the Japanese car brand is all set to launch the facelifted versions of the Go hatchback and Go Plus station wagon in the Indian market. Bookings for the cars are already open, and the launch is likely to happen this week. In fact, the facelifted Datsun Go and Go Plus have already started arriving into Nissan dealerships ahead of the launch.
Aamir Khan’s first major campaign for Brand Datsun will be called ‘Experience Change’. It’ll talk about the various new bits on the Datsun Go and Go Plus cars, and will highlight the changes through a variety of media platforms such as print, radio, outdoor and digital.
Aamir Khan said,
I am thrilled to be associated with an iconic brand that stands for quality and innovation. I look forward to being a part of the Datsun family and its fascinating growth journey in India.
Thomas Kuehl, President, Nissan India Operations, said,
We are delighted to have Aamir Khan join our Datsun family in India. Aamir advocates the bold and fearless attitude of the new generation who strive for excellence and embodies the spirit of Datsun. We are proud to have him onboard and be the face of our new campaign.
Both the Datsun Go and Go Plus get revised exterior design that includes new bumpers at the front and rear, new alloy wheels and also LED daytime running lamps as the prominent changes. On the inside, changes will be quite extensive as well, with a new dashboard, safety features and a touchscreen infotainment interface that packs Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The cars will get twin airbags, ABS+EBD and reverse parking sensors as standard safety features across the variant line up. Prices are likely to go up thanks to the various changes.
