Abhay Deol’s new ride is a Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace luxury SUV

Volkswagen group launched a number of new vehicles in India under their 2.0 strategy. One of the vehicle that Volkswagen had showcased earlier this year at the Auto Expo was Tiguan AllSpace SUV. A month later, they officially announced the price and launched it in the market. Tiguan AllSpace is a seven seater SUV that is priced at Rs 33.13 lakh, ex-showroom. The renowned Bollywood actor Abhay Deol has recently bought one of these SUV and the pictures of him with the brand new Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace have been shared on social media platforms. The actor has gone for Habanero Orange shade that looks good on the car.

German car manufacturer had launched the Tiguan AllSpace as a 7-seater SUV that will compete with the likes of Skoda Kodiaq, Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour in the segment. In terms of design, Tiguan AllSpace looks more like a crossover than a proper SUV. Volkswagen used to offer a 5-seater version of the same SUV under the name Tiguan and Tiguan AllSpace has a similar design. The main difference that this SUV has from the regular Tiguan is that it is longer than the 5-seater version (215 mm to be exact) and is now available with a petrol engine only.

Volkswagen group like many other manufacturers had announced that they will be concentrating on petrol engines and will be phasing out diesel options. Although the AllSpace has the looks of a crossover, it can easily handle bad roads and has ample ground clearance. On the inside, Tiguan AllSpace is a fairly spacious and offers number of features. It gets a fully digital instrument cluster, tri-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, 8.0 inch touchscreen infotainment screen, ABS, ESP, Tyre Pressure Monitoring system, multi function steering wheel, premium interiors, 8-speaker audio system, hands-free powered tailgate and so on.

As mentioned above, Volkswagen is offering Tiguan AllSpace with a petrol engine only. The 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine in the AllSpace generates a maximum of 187 Bhp and 320 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox. Volkswagen’s 4Motion All-wheel Drive technology comes as standard with the SUV. This technology usually powers the front wheels but, if it detects wheel slip then the power is given to the rear wheel as well.
