Supercar culture in India has been growing over the years. McLaren officially made its entry into the Indian market last year. The McLaren GT which has been gifted to Kartik Aaryan is an entry-level supercar from the British car maker. The ex-showroom price for this supercar starts at Rs 3.72 crore. Just like in the case with any sports car or supercar, McLaren is also offering a wide range of customisation options which will increase the overall price of the car. McLaren is also offering a pre-configured add-on pack for GT at Rs 29.7 lakh.
When we say that McLaren GT is an entry level supercar, it does not mean it is not powerful. It is powered by a 4.0 litre, twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine. The engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The 4.0 litre V8 engine generates 611 Bhp and 630 Nm of peak torque. It can do 0-100 kmph sprint in just 3.2 seconds and the top-speed of the car is limited to 326 kmph. The McLaren GT owned by Kartik Aaryan is the first GT to arrive in India. However this is not the first McLaren. There are several McLaren 720S and 570S already spotted in India. The GT competes with cars like Ferrari Roma, Porsche 911 turbo S and Bentley Continental GT.
The actor is known to have good number of cars in his garage. He has a BMW 5-Series luxury sedan and a Mini Cooper S convertible hatchback. Other than these the actor also owns a Lamborghini Urus which he mostly uses to commute around. The news of Kartik Aaryan made it to the news because the in order to avoid waiting period on his brand new car, the actor airlifted the Urus from Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy, the home of Lamborghini. The actor had to spent around Rs 50 lakh to just airlift the SUV from Italy.
