According to reports the major chunk of these vehicles will be exported to other major auto markets of the world. Hyundai currently produces 40,000 units of the Verna but on average, it only sells around 1603 units per month, according to the sales data from last year. The majority of the volume still gets imported as of now also gets imported so given the increase in volume it’s not shocking that the company will be exporting a ton of them.

As per the reports, one of the biggest reasons for the increase in production volume of the 2023 Verna can be accredited to Hyundai’s decision to stop the production of the sedan at its St Petersburg plant in Russia. The South Korean carmaker has made this decision due to a shortage in components in Russia as a direct consequence of war between Russia and Ukraine.

The company will most likely be diverting the production volumes to its two manufacturing plants in Irungattukottai and Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu in India. Hyundai plans to make India a major export hub and plans to ship cars to Middle East, Latin America and number of other global markets.

The upcoming Verna for the longest has been in the development and till date numerous test mules have been spotting testing across the entire country. In the other most recent report regarding the 2023 Verna it was stated that most likely the company is planning to equip the new Verna with a more powerful 1.5 TGDI turbo petrol powerplant that will produce segment leading power and torque.

According to reports, the 1.4-liter engine now powering the Creta, Seltos, and Alcazar won’t pass the new RDE regulations under Phase II of the BS6 transition, which is scheduled to happen before April 2023, so it is believed that the company will debut an entirely new 1.5-liter turbo-petrol unit in India. Hence the new Verna could also receive this new powerplant. Currently, the exact details of this engine are not yet available. Howeve, rumo Rrs suggest that it might be able to generate 260–265 Nm of peak torque and 160 PS of peak power. This engine could be made available with a manual or a DCT transmission.

In terms of changes the new Verna will most likely feature a split headlight design with daytime running LEDs on top. It will also boast a higher waistline, and new diamond-cut alloy wheels. A parametric grille, first seen on the brand-new Tucson, will also be added to the new Verna. Other key highlights on the all-new 2023 Hyundai Verna will be the ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) technology that will make the sedan more safer.
