Hyundai has studied customer requirements and preference and found out that the market is divided between majorly two segments – 5-seeater and 7-seater within the car segment of SUV and crossovers. Currently, the customers who look for a 7-seater car either goes on to buy the Honda BR-V in MPV segment, or goes on to buy the Mahindra Scorpio in the SUV segment. Hyundai will take emotional advantage and will launch a 7-seat version of the car in future, that will take on the cars like Honda BR-V and Maruti Ertiga.
The ‘SUV’ segment!
The incline towards the big car segment that includes SUVs, Crossovers and MPVs is very much evident in the Indian market. Customers are currently avoiding the sedan segment to buy more of such vehicles because of the comfort they offer on Indian roads and also, the intimidating presence of such vehicles.
Hyundai entered the compact SUV segment with the Creta and gained a lot of customers in the market. The SUV, that mimics the looks of the bigger sibling, Santa Fe captured a lot of audience. The Korean company will now work to expand the SUV portfolio to garner new fold of customers.
