The market launch of the car is expected to happen in a few months from now, which is also when the price announcement will be made. The all-new Amaze is expected to use the same platform that the previous-generation model used, but with significant styling changes and revised interiors. The 2018 Amaze is expected to take an upmarket route in terms of looks, interiors and features offered.

The car is likely to be a mini-City in all these aspects. Mechanically though, it’s likely to be unchanged. Both petrol and diesel options will continue, with the petrol motor being the 1.2 liter i-VTEC unit making 87 Bhp-110 Nm and the diesel motor being the 1.5 liter all-aluminium turbocharged diesel unit making 98.6 Bhp-200 Nm. While the petrol engine will get 5 speed manual and CVT automatic gearboxes, the diesel motor is expected to use a 5 speed manual transmission.

Competition in the compact sedan space in intense and over the past couple of years, the Amaze has lost favour among buyers. To remedy this, Honda is expected to load the new car with features, including a new 7 inch Digipad touchscreen infotainment system. This system is expected to offer smartphone integration, navigation and a host of other features. In terms of dimensions, the new Amaze is likely to become slightly larger than before on the outside, allowing engineers to pack in additional space on the inside. The car’s price is likely to be pegged close to the 5.5 lakh rupee mark.
