Mahindra launched the all-new Thar in the Indian market last year and it has already become extremely popular in the market. Mahindra is now working on its next all-new products – the Mahindra XUV500 and the Scorpio. The XUV500 is expected to be launched by the festive season this year but before that, Mahindra is testing the upcoming car in different parts of the country. Well, here is a video that shows Mahindra testing the all-new XUV500 on the highways at a speed of 150 km/h. Here is the video.

The video is by AutoHunters India shows the Mahindra XUV500 doing high-speed runs on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. The short video shows the upcoming car maintaining high speeds on the highway. It is highly likely that Mahindra is testing high-speed stability of the vehicle on the public highways.

There are many other spy pictures and videos of the car testing in different locations across India. The all-new XUV500 was also tested in the cold weather conditions in the Himalayan ranges. With the new spy pictures, it seems that the all-new XUV500 is ready to be launched in the Indian market in the coming months. However, a source has suggested that the launch is expected to get delayed by a few months.

Nonetheless, the all-new Mahindra XUV500 will become bigger than the current version of the car. Various spy pictures show that it will come with LED daytime running lamps, an aggressive grille design, flush-type door handles, turn indicators integrated to the ORVMs, five-spoke alloy wheels, roof rails and more.

Mahindra will offer both petrol and diesel engine options with the all-new XUV500. The petrol variants will get the 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-charged petrol engine that will produce around 190 PS of maximum power and 380 Nm of peak torque. The diesel variants will get the 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine that will produce around 185 PS of peak power and 380 Nm of peak torque. Both the engine options will get a standard manual transmission and optional 6-speed automatic transmission as well.

With such powerful engine options, it is likely that Mahindra is currently testing the upcoming car to its limits before the official launch. The all-new XUV500 will take on the likes of Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, Hyundai Tucson and more such vehicles in the segment. Mahindra will also offer a range of modern and high-end features with the vehicle to make it better-armed against the rivals.

The Mahindra XUV500 is also expected to offer ADAS or Advanced Driving Assistance System. However, Mahindra is yet to confirm the same. We are also not sure if the all-new Mahindra XUV500 will come with all-wheel drive or AWD option. Mahindra may not offer AWD option due to the low popularity of the same. However, the test mule of the upcoming car has been spotted in a few tricky situations and we may just get a surprise when it launched. None of the competitors offer AWD option at the present.
