All-new Maruti Suzuki Brezza: Launch timeline revealed

The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza has consistently remained the highest selling sub-compact SUV ever since it arrived in India in 2016. However, the launch of newer and more contemporary models has made it look outdated now, which is why Maruti Suzuki is working on an all-new second-generation model of the SUV. If reports are to be believed, the new version of the Vitara Brezza is all set to arrive in India by the middle of next year. The all-new model has already been spied in its full glory, which has revealed many confirmed details.

All-new Maruti Suzuki Brezza: Launch timeline revealed

Currently codenamed YTA by Maruti Suzuki, the new Vitara Brezza is going to receive several updates. The first update is with the name. Maruti Suzuki will ditch the ‘Vitara’ prefix this time, with the SUV set to be called only as Brezza. It is evident from the rear profile of the SUV seen in the spy shots, in which the chrome nameplate bears only the ‘Brezza’ branding.

The second aspect to be talked about is its styling, with the new Maruti Suzuki Brezza having a completely new design language, which though is based on a conventional squared body profile. The front and rear profiles of the SUV have entirely changed, with the Brezza getting an all-new front fascia with sleeker-looking grille and bi-beam LED projector headlamps, sportier-looking front and rear bumpers, thin and elongated strips for LED tail lamps and a revised housing for the number plate at the lower part of the boot lid.

The cabin gets big changes as well

The cabin of the new Maruti Suzuki Brezza has also gone under the knife and looks completely different from the interior layout of the current model. The new dashboard has a bigger touchscreen infotainment system which is a free-standing unit and is supposed to operate on an all-new software that has debuted in the new-generation S-Cross overseas. iThe other features visible in the spy pictures are a first-for-Maruti Suzuki electric sunroof, automatic climate control, push start-stop button, new multi-functional steering wheel, TFT MID in analogue instrument console, paddle shifters and wireless charger.

While the overall styling in and out has seen a major revamp, the new Maruti Suzuki Brezza is expected to get the same heart under its bonnet. The expected powertrain on duty is the same 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, which is expected to retain its maximum power and torque outputs of 105 bhp and 138 Nm respectively. As before, the engine will be available with the transmission options of 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic and will get a mild-hybrid setup with both transmission options.

With the new and more upmarket appeal, the new Maruti Suzuki Brezza will see a bump in its pricing and segment positioning. Expect it to be priced in the range of Rs 8.5-13 lakh, and with this pricing, it will compete with more premium sub-compact SUVs like Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon and Mahindra XUV300..
