Maruti Suzuki Swift is one of the most popular hatchbacks in the country. The car has been in the market for over 15 years and during this time, we have seen several generations of this popular hatchback. The manufacturer is now working on the next-generation Swift and the prototypes have been spotted testing several times. The next-generation Swift is likely to be launched in the market sometime next year and by looking at the spy pictures, we are quite sure that the upcoming hatchback is likely to get a new look. We have come across several spy pictures and render images of the upcoming Swift and this is what we know about the car so far.
The upcoming Swift definitely looks sharper than the current model. The design of the front grille on this render is different from the current version. We have not seen much chrome on th grille or other elements of the test vehicle however the production variant might get some. The headlamps also get a revised design. They look like an evolution from the current generation but are sleeker and look more sharp or aggressive. The bumper looks muscular that goes well with the overall sporty design at the front.

The upcoming Swift is expected to be wider and longer than the current version. This means, the car would offer a cabin that is spacious than ever before. The overall design of the car from the side looks similar to the current generation however there are some changes here too. The rear door handles are not placed on the pillar anymore. From the spy pictures that are available online, it is clear that the Swift gets new set of alloy wheels. It is most likely to be a dual-tone unit which would give the car a sporty look overall.
The rear profile of the car would also see major changes like an all LED tail lamp, revised bumper and so on. The interior of the next-gen Swift will also be getting a major update. The dashboard design of the car would be completely changed and it might also gets Suzuki’s new touchscreen infotainment system which we have seen in cars like Brezza. The car would also offer a new instrument cluster, automatic climate control, steering-mounted controls, connected car features and so on.
Maruti Suzuki is a brand that is known to offer cars with great fuel efficiency. This does not change with the upcoming Swift. The manufacturer is expected to offer a strong hybrid system with the Swift which would offer better fuel efficiency. Like in the case with other vehicle, Maruti Suzuki is expected to offer both mild hybrid and strong hybrid versions in the market. The regular version of Swift will be powered by the same 1.2 litre DualJet petrol engine which will be offered with a 5-speed manual and an AMT gearbox. The strong hybrid version might use a 1.2 litre naturally aspirated engine paired with an electric motor. This engine is expected to return a fuel economy anywhere between 35-40 kmpl. This engine might be paired with a CVT gearbox.
