Maruti Suzuki officially launched the all-new Swift in the market yesterday. Days before the official launch, Maruti had teased everyone by giving a glimpse of the new hatchback. Official bookings for the same had also started. Maruti has now announced that they have received over 10,000 bookings for the all-new Swift. Prices for the all-new Swift start at Rs 6.49 lakh, ex-showroom, and go up to Rs 9.64 lakh, ex-showroom.

The official bookings for the new Swift started on May 1; however, there were reports that some dealers had started accepting unofficial bookings for the new hatchback. The Swift has been an extremely popular hatchback in the Indian market since its launch in 2005. Maruti is offering the current generation Swift in LXi, VXi, VXi(O), ZXi, ZXi+ and ZX+ Dual Tone variants.

The design of the new Swift is an evolution from the previous generation. It gets sweptback headlamps that look sleeker than before. The headlights are projector units, and the internal elements are blacked out for a sporty look. The car also gets a boomerang-shaped LED DRL. The front grille has been redesigned, and we see a gloss black outline around the grille instead of chrome.

The Suzuki logo is above the grille. The clamshell bonnet, 15-inch dual-tone machine-cut alloy wheels, electrically adjustable ORVMs with integrated turn indicators can all be seen in the higher variants. The other change one would notice on the side profile is the repositioned door handle. The rear door handle is now back on the door, which makes it more convenient to use than before.

There is a brand new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the center. The center console is driver-oriented. The car offers features like automatic climate control, cruise control, flat-bottom steering wheel, an analog instrument cluster with a color MID in the center, and so on.

The seats are wrapped in black-colored fabric upholstery. Maruti is offering the new Swift with several safety features like 6 airbags, parking sensors, ABS, ESC, Hill Start Assist as standard across all variants. Maruti also claims that they have used high-strength steel in the structure to make the car a lot safer than before.
