The car will be available in 12 variants and for the first time, Maruti will offer automatic transmission on the hatchback. The waiting period is said to be ranging from 6 weeks to 8 weeks depending on the variants. Earlier, Mr RS Kali, senior executive director of sales and marketing said that the all-new Swift will sell more than 15,000 units per month, which is more than what the previous generation Swift used to sell.

The all-new Swift comes with a host of changes to attract the buyers. It is the third generation Swift and is built on the lightweight HEARTECT platform. The vehicle is available with unique features like LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs that adds a very sharp and premium look to the vehicle. The Swift has also become wider and has 20mm longer wheelbase than the current version that makes it roomier.

Maruti will offer the Swift with the same petrol and diesel engine options but the performance and the fuel efficiency have gone up considerably because of the lighter weight. The power output of both the engines remains same. Starting with the all-new Swift, Maruti will offer Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) as an option with both the petrol and diesel engine options.

On the inside, the Swift gets an all-new cabin with an all-black theme. There are new controls for the automatic climate control and it also gets Smart Play infotainment system. The touch-screen infotainment gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. There will be as many as 12 variants on sale with 6 colours.
