All-new Skoda Octavia luxury sedan: New TVC released

Couple of months ago, Skoda launched the all-new Octavia premium sedan in the market. The premium sedan is currently priced at Rs 25.99 lakh, ex-showroom for the base Style variant. It is without any doubt one of the best looking premium sedans currently on sale in Indian market. It competes with Hyundai Elantra in the segment. Skoda has now released a new TVC for the all-new Octavia explaining all the features that is available with the premium sedan.

The video has been shared by Skoda India on their official YouTube channel. In this video, they take us through the overall design of the Octavia and then move inside to show the features. The all-new Skoda Octavia is based on MQB platform. This has actually helped increasing the dimensions of the new Octavia. It is now slightly longer and wider than the older generation Octavia.

Skoda has done a great job with the design of the now Octavia. The sedan looks a lot more sharper than before. It now comes with a new chrome grille and on either end of the grille, there are sleek looking adaptive LED headlamps with a new design. LED DRLs are integrated inside the headlamp cluster. customers also have the option to choose Matrix LED headlamp.

The bumper on the new Octavia has been updated too. Coming to the side profile, the Octavia gets 17 inch alloy wheels with a unique design to them. The side profile has a very sharp design and the sloping roof design adds to it. At the rear, the sedan gets sharper looking LED tail lamps with Skoda branding on the boot. Video also shows the electrically controlled boot with 600 litres of space in it.

Skoda has totally changed the interiors of the all-new Octavia. It now comes with premium looking interiors. The main highlight on the dashboard is the floating style 10 inch touchscreen infotainment screen that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The dashboard gets a beige tone with glossy black inserts in between. Like many other Skoda cars, Octavia also gets a virtual cockpit or 10.25 inch fully digital instrument cluster.

Another highlight on the all-new Octavia is the two-spoke multi-function steering wheel. It gets a premium 600W 11 speaker system from Canton, 8 Airbags, beige colour premium leather upholstery, electrically adjustable seats with memory function, dual zone climate control, wireless phone charger and so on.

When it comes to the engine options, like many other vehicle manufacturers around the world, Skoda had also announced that they are moving away from diesel engines. The Skoda Octavia comes with a petrol engine only in India. It is powered by a 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine that generates maximum of 190 Ps and 320 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 7-speed DSG transmission as standard. The conventional gear knob on the Octavia has been replaced for a toggle switch as it now uses shift by wire technology. Skoda does not offer a manual gearbox with Octavia. The top-end L&K variant of Skoda Octavia is priced at Rs 28.99 lakh, ex-showroom.
