Amitabh Bachchan’s latest ride is a facelifted Toyota Innova Crysta MPV

Toyota launched the facelifted version of the Innova Crysta last month and Amitabh Bachchan has just got the delivery of the new car. Owner of the multi-crore garage, Amitabh Bachchan moves around in style. However, in recent times, he has developed this inclination towards the MPVs. A picture that surfaced online shows Toyota dealership officials handing over the car keys to Amitabh Bachchan at his home in Mumbai.

The exact variant of this Innova Crysta bought by Amitabh Bachchan is not known but it seems to be the top-end variant of the car. The vehicle has been registered too and gets the HSRP, which has now become mandatory in many states across India. The base price of the Innova Crysta facelift starts at Rs 16.26 lakh while the top-end version is priced at Rs 24.33 lakh.

Amitabh Bachchan also took the delivery of the luxurious Mercedes-Benz V-Class luxury MPV sometime ago at the same spot. Actually, this alley is where Amitabh Bachchan takes the delivery of a lot of vehicles. In fact, a few months ago, he received the all-new S-Class at the same spot.

Now coming to the updated Innova, it is the first update that the MPV has received since its launch in 2016. It gets minor changes including a new grille and a thick chrome stripe at the front. The headlamps are now updated and get LED DRLs.  There are not many changes on the side and rear of the vehicle though.

Toyota will continue to offer the same 2.4-litre diesel engine option that generates a maximum power of 150Bhp and peak torque of 343 Nm with the manual. With an automatic transmission, the torque output is increased to 360 Nm. The petrol variants offer a 2.7-litre petrol engine that generates a maximum power of 166 Bhp and peak torque of 245 Nm. Only an automatic transmission is available with the petrol engine option.

The Toyota Innova has been a popular choice in the celebrity garages for a long time now. Almost all Bollywood celebrities have an Innova in their garage. Celebrities like Malaika Arora, Rajnikanth and even Aamir Khan are spotted with the MPV regularly. Since it is highly reliable and is extremely comfortable, celebrities choose it over the other vehicles. Malaika Arora even drives her Innova Crysta petrol automatic around and sometimes, she drives the vehicle all alone too.

While most of the Innova Crysta sold in India are bought by the car fleet owners who use the vehicle commercially, over the years, the Innova has become quite premium. With the update, even more so. The new Toyota Innova Crysta even offers a larger 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Aut and Apple CarPlay while new additions like an integrated air purifier and a 360-degree camera make the Innova Crysta much better loaded than before.

Amitabh Bachchan’s garage

Amitabh Bachchan recently bought a brand-new S-Class, before that, he took the delivery of the V-Class. His garage consists of a Range Rover Autobiography LWB, old S-Class models that are used by Aishwarya Rai, Lexus LX570, Bentley Continental GT, Porsche Cayman and many more such high-end vehicles. He sold his Rolls Royce Ghost sometime ago to a businessman. We are not sure if he is going to replace that vehicle now.
