Rolls Royce cars represent automotive royalty and not so long ago, actual royal families from the princely states of India drove about in Rolls Royces imported straight from England. The ‘Double R’ brand, which is now under the BMW group, made a comeback into India about a decade ago. With sales and service support of this bespoke car brand now available in India, the rich and famous have already begun rolling around in these high rollers. Today, we take a look at 12 such Rolls Royce cars and their famous owners.
Anant, Mukesh Ambani’s youngest child, opted for the most expensive car on sale in the country today, i.e. the Rolls Royce Phantom Drop Head Coupe (DHC). The DHC sits on top of the Rolls Royce range. Prices start at Rs 8.84 crores ex-showroom, but that is without the options. Power comes from a massive 6.75 liter V12 that produces 454 Bhp and 720 Nm. While this car isn’t meant to be quick, it does do 0-100 in 5.8 seconds, which is quick for such a car.
Hrithik Roshan treated himself with a Rolls at 42. The Bollywood A-Lister and car enthusiast bought a Rolls Royce Ghost Series II. The man later got into this ultra luxurious car and took a ride around town with his kids in two. The car’s estimated to have cost the actor about 7 crore rupees, which means that it’s been extensively customized. The stock version, starts at 4.5 crore rupees. Notably, the Ghost Series II features a 6.2 liter twin turbo V12 petrol engine with 563 Bhp-780 Nm on tap. The car can hit an electronically limited top speed of 250 Kph, while the 0-100 Kph run takes 4.9 seconds.
