Angel One CMD buys India’s first Porsche Taycan Turbo S electric sportscar: Takes it out for a spin [Video]

In the last couple of years, most European carmakers, including Mercedes Benz, Audi, BMW, Porsche and Jaguar, have marked their presence in the EV space with their niche offerings. The latest of them all, Porsche, has also started delivering its first-ever electric car, the Taycan, to its Indian customers. The German sports car and luxury SUV maker recently delivered the first Taycan of India in the country’s financial capital, Mumbai, to a prominent Indian businessman, Dinesh Thakkar.

The first Porsche Taycan delivered in India is the four-door electric car’s top-spec Turbo S variant. Finished in an exclusive custom shade of Green Mamba, the Porsche Taycan Turbo S belonging to Dinesh Thakkar was recently seen rolling on the streets of Mumbai, as seen in a YouTube video uploaded by ‘CS 12 Vlogs’.

In the video, we can see that the Porsche Taycan Turbo S has an incredible road presence. While the ground clearance of the four-door Taycan is ‘supercar-standards’ low, it is decent enough to glide over big speed breakers coming in its way. Apart from the fantastic looking paint scheme, the Porsche Taycan Turbo S bought by Thakkar also has beautiful dual-tone black and silver alloy wheels, which go very well with the futuristic design of the electric supercar.

The Taycan is Porsche’s first attempt at making an electric supercar. This four-door saloon made its global debut in 2019, and since then, it is on sale in many car markets around the world. The Indian car market received the Porsche Taycan in 2022, with four different variants on sale – Taycan RWD, Taycan 4S, Taycan Turbo and Taycan Turbo S.

The Turbo S is the top-spec variant of the Porshe Taycan and the one bought by Dinesh Thakkar too. Contrary to its name, it doesn’t get a turbocharged petrol engine at its back. Instead, it has an all-wheel-drive layout with one electric motor mounted on both front and rear axles. The combined power and torque outputs of these motors are 761 PS and 1050 Nm. These figures make it one of the most powerful electric supercars on sale today.

Porsche claims a top speed of electronically-restricted 260 km/h and a 0-100 km/h claim of 2.8 seconds, which makes it even faster than some of the top-of-the-line petrol-powered supercars on sales today. The Porsche Taycan Turbo S sits at the top of the four-variant lineup of the electric supercar in India and is priced here at Rs 2.29 crore (ex-showroom, India).
