Aprilia launches two new motorcycles in the Indian market

Aprilia has launched the latest update of the Shiver and Dorsoduro in India. The new motorcycles feature a larger V-Twin engine and updated electronics. The Shiver 900 is a roadster while the Dorsoduro is a touring motorcycle. Both the motorcycles use similar engines and electronics package though. Aprilia launched these motorcycles in the international market last year.

Powering both the motorcycles is an 896cc, air-cooled V-Twin engine that produces a peak power of 95.2 Bhp and peak torque of 90 Nm. Both the motorcycles carry a similar steel-tube trellis frame which is bolted onto aluminium side plates.

Both the new Aprilia also share the same suspension setup. The front suspension is a Kayaba upside down fork and an adjustable mono-shock at the rear. However, to suit different riding conditions, the Shiver 900 gets a maximum front travel of 120 mm and rear travel of 130 mm. The adventure-centric Dorsoduro gets 160mm of travel at both front and rear.

The braking duty is taken up by twin 320mm floating disc brakes at front with four-piston Brembo callipers and a single 240mm disc at the rear with single-piston Brembo calliper. Dual-channel ABS from Continental is standard in both the models.

The motorcycles also get updated electronics. The motorcycles get switchable traction control. There is a three-way traction control setting in the Dorsoduro while the Siver only gets an on-off switch of the traction. There is ride-by-wire technology and both of them feature three riding modes – sport, touring and rain. The riding console is fully digital. There’s a 4.3-inch TFT display that gets Bluetooth connectivity for any smartphone and can be used to change multimedia on the phone.
