The British luxury automotive marque Aston Martin synonymous with the infamous movie character James Bond’s choice of ride recently announced the completion of production for its first customer Aston Martin DBX707 SUV. The all-new DBX707 which is currently crowned as the world’s most powerful luxury SUV rolled off the assembly line from the Aston Martin’s production facility in St Athan, Wales. Aston Martin stated that the final inspection of the first customer DBX707 was done by Secretary of State for Wales, Simon Hart MP, and Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Wales, David Davies MP.
Touted as a unique combination of “blistering performance, supreme dynamics, unmistakable style, and absolute luxury” the Aston Martin DBX707 is powered by the Aston Martin’s iteration of the Mercedes-AMG’s 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8. The mighty V8 petrol engine produces a mind-blowing 707PS of power and 900Nm of torque, which is nearly 157PS and 200Nm over the standard DBX (V8). This mammoth of a machine despite being laden with the finest materials on earth can do a sprint of 0-60mph in just 3.1 seconds. Additionally, it can also reach a maximum top speed of 193mph, should a person find an ample stretch of road.
Like every other Aston Martin model, the all-new DBX707 is also a hand-built example of British engineering and craftsmanship. The company revealed that it hired more than 100 additional skilled and experienced automotive technicians at its facility in St Athan to assist with the ramped up production of the DBX707 SUV along with the standard DBX which is the first Welsh-built production vehicle in over 50 years.

Speaking on the occasion, Michael Straughan, Chief Operating Officer of Aston Martin Lagonda, said, “Aston Martin is immensely proud to be manufacturing industry-leading products like DBX707 from a world-class facility in Wales, and we are delighted to see the very first model completed. As the first car delivered through the product development cycle under the leadership of Lawrence Stroll, Executive Chairman of Aston Martin Lagonda, DBX707 is a symbol of the new era for Aston Martin and the brand’s ability to combine ultra-luxury and high-performance.”
Straughan further added, “The initial reaction from customers and media has been tremendous, and as we ramp-up DBX707 production at St Athan, it is fantastic that we have also had the opportunity to grow our team and create more employment opportunities for people from the local community. Wales has a rich tradition of industrial and engineering excellence and we’re excited to be forging the future and to support that proud heritage”
Meanwhile, the Secretary of State for Wales, Simon Hart, said, “It’s great to see the iconic Aston Martin brand roll off the production line in here in Wales, before being exported to countries around the world. The success of the DBX707 is testament to the highly skilled and hard-working team, and it’s fascinating to see how they work. I want Wales to be a highly attractive location for cutting-edge automotive technologies and the UK Government will continue to work to secure and support the investment of companies, like Aston Martin, as they drive economic growth and create jobs.”
