Audi India launches Q3 Dynamic Edition Crossover

German luxury brand Audi has followed up its big volume A3 sedan with a new edition for the hot selling Q3 crossover. The Dynamic Edition of the Audi Q3 has been launched in India, at a price of 38.4 lakh rupees (about 2 lakh rupees extra over the Premium Plus variant). Essentially, the Q3 Dynamic Edition adds more kit to the top-end, diesel powered Q3 crossover.

The Audi Q3 Dynamic Edition uses the 2 liter, TDI turbo diesel motor that outputs 175 Bhp of peak power and 380 Nm of peak torque. This engine is paired to a 7 speed dual clutch automatic gearbox that powers all four wheels of the crossover through the Quattro all wheel drive mechanism. 

What does the Dynamic Edition variant of the Audi Q3 bring to the table?

  • Drive Select function, which allows the driver to toggle between Comfort, Dynamic and Auto modes that tailor suspension, throttle and gearbox settings.

Florett Silver, Mythos Black and Monsoon Grey are the three paint shades that the Dynamic Edition Q3 will be available in. Audi sells the Q3 with two other engine options. The base Q3 S variant gets the 2 liter TDI turbo diesel engine in 148 Bhp-350 Nm state of tune, and a 6 speed manual gearbox driving the front wheels of the crossover.

The Q3 is also sold with with a 2 liter TFSI turbo petrol engine that makes 211 Bhp of peak power and 350 Nm of peak torque. The petrol powered Q3 also uses a 7 speed dual clutch DSG automatic gearbox. Prices of the Audi Q3 start from 25.35 lakh rupees, ex-showroom Delhi.

The crossover is assembled from completely knocked down (CKD) kits at Audi India’s Aurangabad assembly facility. The Q3 has been a big success for the German luxury marque right from word go. The Q3 will face new competition from the 30th of September, 2014, when Mercedes Benz India will launch the GLA Crossover.
