Bajaj Pulsar F250 & N250 launched: Prices start from Rs 1.38 lakh

After releasing multiple teasers Bajaj has finally decided to launch the all-new Pulsar in the market. Bajaj has launched two versions of their new motorcycle in the market. There is a semi-faired version known as Pulsar F250 and the naked street version which is simply known as N250. Bajaj Pulsar N250 is priced at Rs 1.38 lakh, ex-showroom and F250 is priced at Rs 1.40 lakh, ex-showroom. Bajaj Pulsar 250 is now the flagship model from the manufacturer in Pulsar series. The all-new Pulsar’s will compete with Yamaha FZs 25, Suzuki Gixxer 250 and Gixxer 250 SF in the segment.

The Pulsar 250 series motorcycles get a new design but, there are still signature design elements that make it a Pulsar. The F250 and N250 has some cosmetic changes only. Mechanically both motorcycles are the same. The F250 gets a fairing with LED projector headlamps and a boomerang shaped LED DRLs. A small windscreen is also placed above it.

Because of the fairing, the F250 looks a lot more muscular than any other Pulsar motorcycle that we have seen so far. The motorcycle gets 200 NS like alloy wheels and the motorcycle continues to offer a telescopic front forks and mono-shock for the rear. In the N250, the fairing is missing and it gets a different and sharper looking headlamp design. A tank cowl is also there which is similar to what we have seen in 200 NS in the past.

Coming to the side profile, the motorcycle gets split seat up, clip on handle bars, upswept exhaust with twin ports. The grab rails in the Pulsar 250 are split like older Pulsars. The new Pulsar also gets redesigned split LED tail lamps as well. It is based on a new tubular frame chassis that offers high torsional stiffness and resistance to stress.

Both motorcycles come with twin disc brakes with single channel ABS as standard. The biggest change in the Pulsar 250 is however the engine itself. It is an all-new 250-cc, single cylinder oil cooled engine. The engine is not the same as we have seen in Duke 250 or Dominar 250 motorcycle. The engine generates 24.5 Ps and 21.5 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 5-speed gearbox and gets slip and assist clutch. Other details on the Bajaj Pulsar 250 include redesigned semi-digital digital instrument cluster, rear view mirrors mounted on the fairing, new LED turn indicators and so on.

Bajaj Pulsar 250 looks a lot more sportier and aggressive in this new design. Bajaj Pulsar series motorcycles are very popular among young riders. It grabbed buyers attention for its looks, performance and the price at which it was available. Bajaj launched their first ever Pulsar in 2001 and it set a trend for affordable performance motorcycles in  India.

Pulsar is also exported to other countries and contributes to almost 50 percent of Bajaj Pulsar sale. Over the years Bajaj launched several models under Pulsar series but, the existing line up of Pulsar motorcycle was starting to feel outdated and many of its competitors had come up with more modern looking models. The newly launched Pulsar 250 motorcycle is expected to bring things back on track.
