Maruti Suzuki Alto, it is a car which is very close to Indian’s heart. It is one of the most affordable cars present in the Indian market. The first generation of Maruti Suzuki Alto was launched in the local Indian market on 27 September 2000 and is still being sold till date. The currently sold Maruti Suzuki Alto is the third generation of the car and the latest one. Internationally the car has seen about 9 generations but only 3 were launched in India.
Maruti Suzuki India Limited has announced that the Alto has crossed a milestone of 45 lakh sales in the Indian market which means currently there are more than 45 lakh Altos on the Indian roads. This number is not such surprise as Alto is a very versatile car and it caters the need of Indians very efficiently. Be it a person looking for an affordable car which can be easily driven in city or a taxi driver looking for a fuel efficient car, Alto suits everyone’s need.

The current generation Alto K10’s price starts from Rs. 3.99 lakh for the base Std variant and goes up to Rs. 5.96 lakh for the top end VXi S-CNG. Both the prices are ex-showroom. The Alto K10 is offered with a 1L DualJet 3 cylinder petrol engine which produces 66 BHP and 89 NM of torque. The transmission options include a 5 speed manual and a 5 speed AMT. The CNG version of the car produces 56 BHP and 82 NM of torque and comes with only the 5 speed manual transmission. Alto is known for its mileage, the petrol only version has a claimed mileage of 24.39 KM/L and the CNG version has a claimed mileage of 33.85 km/kg
