Bigg Boss contestant Urfi Javed buys new Jeep Compass SUV

Urfi Javed is known for being a contestant on Bigg Boss and for starring in shows like Puncch Beat Season 2, Meri Durga, Bade Bhaiyya Ki Dulhania and Bepannaah. She has just bought a new Jeep Compass SUV.

The SUV is finished in a Hydro Blue paint scheme which is not offered on the facelifted version. This means that Urfi has bought a pre-owned Jeep Compass. The Compass is a more premium SUV than other mid-size SUVs because of which it has more road presence than them.

Jeep launched Compass Facelift last year

Jeep launched the facelifted version of the Compass last year. It did not come with any mechanical changes but there were several feature additions and major cosmetic changes. The Compass starts at Rs. 18.04 lakhs ex-showroom and goes up to Rs. 29.59 lakhs ex-showroom.

Jeep made changes to the exterior, the Compass now gets a slimmer LED headlamp with revised LED Daytime Running Lamps, the seven slat grille has also been updated, the front bumper and fog lamp housing are also new and the alloy wheels have also been redesigned.

There are changes to the interior of the Compass too. It gets a new dashboard layout that looks more important. Changing the dashboard layout was important because of the new 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system that has a floating design and supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There are leather inserts on the dashboard with stitching, a new three-spoke steering wheel and a new digital instrument cluster as well.

It is available in two engine options. There is a 2.0-litre MultiJet diesel engine and a 1.4-litre Multi-Air petrol engine that is turbocharged. The diesel engine produces 170 PS of max power and 350 Nm of peak torque whereas the turbo petrol engine produces 163 PS of max power and 250 Nm of peak torque. Both the engines come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. The diesel engine gets a 9-speed torque converter automatic transmission and the turbo petrol engine gets a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Being a Jeep, there are also 4×4 variants that are only sold with the diesel engine.

Jeep Compass Trailhawk

Jeep also sells a hard-core off-road version of the Compass, it is called the Compass Trailhawk. It is priced at Rs. 30.97 lakhs ex-showroom. It gets off-road specific upgrades. For instance, there are tow hooks, redesigned bumpers, and new 17-inch alloy wheels that are wrapped in 225/60 R17 Falken Wildpeaks all-terrain tyres.

The approach angle and departure angle have been improved. There is a new Rock driving mode and the air intake has also been repositioned for better water wading capacity. You also get a 4×4 system, low-range gearbox, 4-wheel drive lock, Hill Hold Control, Dynamic Steering Torque and Hill Descent Control. The interior is finished in an all-black theme with red stitching.

The engine and transmission are the same as the Compass Facelift. So, it comes with a 2.0-litre Multijet 2 diesel engine that produces 170 PS of max power and 350 Nm of peak torque. It gets mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. There is no manual transmission on offer.
