One of the most unique interests or passions is to have a VIP registration number for their vehicle. Last we heard about was the Rs 46 lakh paid by the Kerala-based entrepreneur Venu Gopalakrishnan for his Lamborghini Urus – KL 07 DG 0007. Well, now we have another such person who has paid ₹14 lakh for the VIP registration number “0001” for his scooter. What makes this even more interesting is that the scooter is only worth Rs 1 lakh, while its number plate is worth 14 times more.

The number “HP 21 C 0001” was recently bought by a man named Sanjeev Kumar. He is a hardware and iron trader who resides in Mattan Siddh, near Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh. As per the owner and his son, Dinesh Kumar, the number was purchased by them while participating in an online auction held by the Himachal Pradesh Transport Department.

It was mentioned that there was only one other bidder in the process, whom they were able to beat by paying Rs 1 lakh more. The other bidder’s last bid was Rs 13 lakh. Currently, the purchase of this VIP registration number has managed to set an unofficial record of being the highest-ever registration fee for a two-wheeler in Himachal Pradesh.

During an interview, Sanjeev Kumar's son, Dinesh Kumar, said, "I have taken the VIP number because of my hobby." He said that he had applied for this number online. Another person had applied for this number, but the number was given to him in the online bid.

Meanwhile, Barsar SDM Rajendra Gautam said, "Two people had applied online. One of them belongs to Solan district. He had placed a bid of about Rs 13 lakh for this number. Whereas, the second bid of Rs 14 lakh was placed from Hamirpur. The process of number auction was done online.”

As stated above, currently the crown of being the owner of the most expensive registration number in India is with the Kerala-based Litmus7 CEO, Venu Gopalakrishnan. He recently bought a Lamborghini Urus Performante, and to honor this vehicle, he paid Rs 46 lakh for the registration in an auction. His registration number is “KL 07 DG 0007”.

Apart from this particular registration number and the Lamborghini Urus, the entrepreneur also owns another Lamborghini, which is a Huracan Sterrato. This off-road-oriented Huracan has been adorned with the registration number “KL 07 DF 7000.” As for the registration number of his Gentian Blue Porsche 911 Turbo S, he has chosen the number “911.”
