One-Wheel KTM Bike On Indian Roads: What's Going On? [Video]
Generally, when we think of KTM motorcycles, we think of popular models such as the Duke, RC, or the Adventure. However, recently a science enthusiast created a very unique KTM-inspired motorcycle. Now, the special part about this particular motorcycle is that it only has one wheel. Also, unlike the standard KTM motorcycles, which come powered by an internal combustion engine, this particular single-wheeled motorcycle is an electric-powered vehicle. When this vehicle was taken on the roads, the public could not believe what they were seeing.
The video of the public reaction to the single-wheeled KTM-inspired motorcycle has been shared on YouTube by Creative Science on their channel. In this video, the creator of this unique single-wheeled electric motorcycle was seen riding on it on a public road. It can be seen that the people who saw this vehicle were completely overwhelmed by it and could not comprehend what they were seeing.
This particular bike managed to grab eyeballs, which generally even a superbike or a supercar worth lakhs and crores cannot get on public roads. It can be seen that people were astonished to see the single-wheeled motorcycle with the rider balancing itself. Almost each and every person who saw this motorcycle brought out their smartphone and was taking pictures and making videos.
How was this single-wheeled motorcycle created?
The same channel which has shared the video of the public reactions to this single-wheeled motorcycle has shared the videos showing how it was created. The first part of this particular video showed how the creator managed to first build a frame using cardboard stencils. The team of this creator was seen cutting, welding, and moulding steel sheets and steel pipes to form the frame for this unique motorcycle.
It can be noted that many cuts were made on the circular steel tubes to help them in bending and then welding them. The video then showed the process of making the handlebar and test fitting each of the custom-fabricated parts on the electric hub motor-equipped wheel. There is a second part of this video as well, in which more support braces and fabrication work was shown.
In this part, the creation of the seat from scratch was also shown. We can note that the frame was then grinded, and all the holes and cuts were filled with proper body filler. After this, the bike was then sanded and prepared for the final layer of paint. The team was seen painting it in the vibrant shade of orange, which is the signature color of the KTM motorcycles.
KTM stickers and vinyl details were also added to this single-wheeled motorcycle. The same video also showed how the creator and his team managed to assemble the battery pack for this motorcycle. It can be seen that each individual battery cell was tested and then was set in frame and was connected.
Finally, the battery pack was connected to the motorcycle. As a result of this, the bike then became functional. It has to be mentioned that although the creator has used KTM branding, this vehicle in reality has nothing to do with the Austrian motorcycle manufacturer. This particular motorcycle is very unique and has managed to break the internet a couple of times.
