TVS Motor Company has launched the all-new TVS Apache RR310 Supersport in the country. The price starts from Rs 2.75 lakh, ex-showroom. There are two colourways available and a lot of things we had previously seen on the RTR 310 have now made it to its faired sibling as well. A lot of changes can be spotted both on the visual and mechanical fronts. There are two BTO kits available: Dynamic and Dynamic Pro. There is even a Race Replica available as well, topping the BTO range.
2024 TVS Apache RR 310 Exterior Design
The design at large might look similar to that of the previous motorcycle. However, TVS has done reworks that count, in various areas of it. The motorcycle is now sportier, sharper and more menacing in its visual appeal. The refreshed ‘APACHE’ decal does make a difference in the way it looks. Body panels have not been tweaked much, but somehow look more imposing now.
The paint quality seems to have improved as well. One of the two available colours is Racing Red, and the other is a new ‘Bomber Grey’. Another highlight is the transparent clutch cover, that adds more sense of being fast and sporty, to the design.
Noteworthy in the design department is the addition of the new Moto-GP-styled ‘Integrated winglets’. Neatly sitting on the main bodywork, these are claimed to generate 3kg of downforce. These ensure that the motorcycle remains stable and the front end is gripped to the track at all times. These also contribute to avoiding unnecessary and unexpected wheelies, alongside improving high-speed stability.
Features And Technology
The motorcycle comes with features like cornering traction control, cruise control, cornering cruise control, wheelie control, a TFT display with Bluetooth-enabled navigation, Race Tuned Dynamic Stability Control (RTDCS) and TPMS among others. We had first seen the IMU-based functions on the RTR310.
Mechanical Changes And Specifications
A host of changes have been done to the vehicle’s engine and platform. The engine now produces more oomph. TVS has played around with the airflow, throttle body dia and volumetric efficiency to milk out more hps from the 312cc engine. It continues to have a Reverse Inclined DOHC layout.
The breathing has been increased, and the air box volume is larger by 13%. The throttle body diameter and volumetric efficiencies have also been increased on the new motorcycle. The engine now comes with a higher compression ratio and gets 10% lighter forged pistons. These changes have made the engine good enough to produce 38 Bhp and 29 Nm – impressive for something of its class.
The gearbox continues to be a six-speed unit, which now gets optional bi-directional quick shifters. This could be the smoothest on any made-in-india motorcycle.
Price And Variants
The entry spec variant (Racing Red without Quickshifters) is priced at 2.75 lakh, ex-showroom. Adding quick shifters will take the price to 2.92 lakh. The new Bomber Grey has an ex-showroom price of 2.97 lakh. The Race livery will add another Rs 7000 to the price.
Coming to the BTO options, the Dynamic kit, with adjustable suspension, a brass-coated chain, and TPMS, costs Rs. 18,000. The second option, the Dynamic Pro costs Rs. 16,000. The Racing Replica paint scheme costs an extra Rs. 7,000, and you can add your favourite race number to the visor.
Doing an A-B comparison, the RR310’s starting price has had a hike of Rs 3000 over the previous generation. Is the price premium justified? Considering all the additions and mechanical tweaks, we would say YES!
