The desire to get famous on social media is on the rise among youngsters. We see several young people trying hard to create viral content to gain engagement on their profile. While we really appreciate the efforts made by some of these creators, there are some who likes to flout rules in the name of creating such content. We have seen such videos go viral and almost immediately after that cops take action against such people. Here we have a video where a biker deliberately scares a scooter rider and makes fall for the sake of creating viral video online.
The video has been shared by Media One on their YouTube channel. The incident was reported from the state capital Thiruvanathanpuram. In the viral video we see a KTM bike rider overtaking several vehicle in front of him.
He is doing this maneuver on a narrow two lane road. We can clearly see that the move by the biker was completely unnecessary as there were vehicles coming from the opposite direction.
The video was recorded by the KTM rider’s friend who was in front of him. In the video, we see the biker deliberately swerving the bike on the opposite lane.
A few seconds into the video, we see a scooter rider getting close to the biker from the opposite lane. Instead of slowing down or going back to his own lane, the biker swerved the bike and confused the scooter rider.
The scooter rider got scared after he saw a bike almost hit his vehicle. He panicked and probably applied brakes. The scooter rider lost control and skids on the road. He probably fell on the road. Thankfully other vehicle coming from the rear were maintaining a distance and they got enough time to slow down.
The biker did not slow down and simply left the spot. We can see him turn his head around to check on the scooter rider. They probably realised that they are in trouble and that is why they didn’t stop. They did post the video online and that is how they got in trouble. Kerala MVD came across the video and noted all the violations.
They then traced the bike using the social media profile. They found that the bike was owned by a Trivandrum native named Nafis and he had posted several stunt videos on his profile. They found the number of the bike from the video and then traced the owner’s address. The MVD reached the owner’s residence and seized the bike.
The MVD questioned the owner and found that the bike was ridden by Nafis’s friend Kiran on that day. The video of the biker was actually uploaded 2 months after this accident occurred. The bike was seized by the Motor Vehicle Department and they also noticed that Kiran didn’t have a driving license. The department is planning to issue a fine of Rs 10,000 against Kiran and suspend the driving license of Nafis.
Driving recklessly or doing stunts on public roads is an offence. The biker not only put his own life at risk but, also the lives of other innocent road users.
