Bikers showing off their riding skills on public roads is a common occurrence. In most cases, these riders act recklessly to prove their abilities. It is not hard to find a biker performing some sort of stunt and putting their life at risk on Indian roads. We have come across several videos in the past where these stunts have gone wrong, resulting in injuries to the rider or the pillion passenger. Here, we have one such video of a stunt gone wrong, where a girl on the pillion seat gets stuck between the tire and mudguard while the rider attempts a wheelie.

The video was shared by wb_rider_sayan on his Instagram page. It was likely filmed in West Bengal. In the video, we see a helmetless rider and pillion passenger on a Yamaha MT15 bike performing stunts on a public road. They were probably recording a video for social media when the accident occurred.
We are simply assuming this, and it is also possible that the rider was trying to impress the girl with his skills. There is no proper grab handle for anyone sitting on the pillion seat of the MT15, so the girl was holding onto the rider. The rider was so focused on performing the stunt that he probably forgot to inform the girl of his plans.
He suddenly pulled a wheelie, and the front wheel lifted into the air. Before the girl even realized what was happening, she began sliding off the seat. The short seat on the MT15, along with the angle at which the bike was positioned, led to the girl slipping between the seat and the tire.
The rider intended to ride forward, unaware that his pillion passenger was no longer with him. Before he could react, he heard the girl scream. She was stuck between the seat and the tire, and we assume that her clothes were also torn in the accident. The person recording the video can be heard laughing, and the video ends there.
Fortunately, the girl escaped without any major injuries. If another vehicle had been coming from behind, both the girl and the biker could have suffered serious injuries. The driver of a vehicle approaching from the rear might not have had enough time to respond and avoid crashing into the bike.
What makes this incident even more dangerous is the fact that neither the rider nor the pillion passenger was wearing any safety gear. If they had been involved in an accident, the chances of sustaining serious injuries would have been high.
This is not the first time we have seen a video of a stunt gone wrong on the internet. Some time ago, a video showed a KTM Duke rider with his girlfriend attempting a wheelie in front of a superbike rider. The girl sitting on the Duke nearly fell off the bike because she had no idea the rider was going to perform the stunt. As in this case, neither the rider nor the pillion passenger was wearing a helmet, and they were fortunate to escape without any injuries.
If you really want to perform such stunts, never do them on public roads. Do them on private property or closed roads to avoid inconveniencing and endangering others. Also, never forget to wear safety gear, as it can protect you from injuries.
