Royal Enfield

The Royal Enfield pavilion saw the debut of three new models, one of which is the manufacturer’s first-ever electric motorcycle. New entrants included the Bear 650, Classic 650, and Flying Flea C6. The brand also had a plethora of custom builds, accessories, concepts and collaborative builds in its pavilion. In another major incident, the Indo-British motorcycle brand announced its new EV vertical- Flying Flea and even announced the first two motorcycles from the sub-brand- C6 and S6.

Flying Flea C6

The C6, the brand’s first all-electric motorcycle, merges classic design with futuristic electric vehicle technology. The subsidiary draws its name from Royal Enfield’s original “Flying Flea” motorcycles from WWII. It comes with retro looks, a low-slung bobber-styled seat, a distinctive front rake angle, and a girder fork front suspension- rarely seen on mainstream motorcycles today.

The C6 also gets a forged aluminium frame, even though it sits in the entry-level urban EV space. Other highlights are an LED headlight, a touchscreen TFT dashboard, low-resistance tyres, front and rear disc brakes, and refined switchgear. The vehicle showcased at EICMA was a solo seater. RE might, however, offer an optional pillion seat upon launch. The battery capacity, motor output and range are yet to be disclosed. The battery is seamlessly integrated into the frame. We expect 100-150 km in range for the production-spec. Royal Enfield’s first ever EV will be out by Spring 2026.

Royal Enfield also showcased the S6 scrambler EV at the expo. It has a retro design and uses the same platform as the C6. It, however, will come with USD forks that offer substantial travel, spoke wheels, high ground clearance, dual-sport tyres, a flat seat and a chain drive.

Features like a colour TFT display, traction control, and cornering ABS are to be expected on the S6. Mechanical and powertrain details aren’t known yet. Royal Enfield plans to launch it in 2027, a year after the release of the C6.

Bear 650

EICMA Reveals By Royal Enfield, Hero MotoCorp, Aprilia, KTM, Ducati And BMW

Royal Enfield Bear 650 has been launched, priced from Rs 3.39 lakh and is the latest entry into the 650 lineup. It stands out with its scrambler-style design and is built on the Interceptor 650 platform.

Key differences include its 648cc parallel-twin engine—the same as in the Interceptor 650—but tweaked to deliver 56.5Nm of torque, a 4Nm increase, for enhanced low-end power. The bike comes with a two-in-one exhaust setup. It is 2 kilograms lighter than the Interceptor.

The Big Bear gets 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels shod with chunky MRF Nylorex tyres specifically designed for the bike. It has a ground clearance of 184 mm and thus becomes the tallest 650 on sale. It is also the first 650 to sport a TFT dash, akin to the one seen on the new Himalayan.

Classic 650

EICMA Reveals By Royal Enfield, Hero MotoCorp, Aprilia, KTM, Ducati And BMW

The final big EICMA launch from Royal Enfield is the Classic 650. The parallel-twin produces 47hp at 7,250rpm and 52.3Nm of torque at 5,650rpm on this motorcycle. The transmission remains the same 6-speed unit with a slip-and-assist clutch. At 243 kilograms, this is the heaviest of all modern Royal Enfields.

The motorcycle shares many of its parts with the Shotgun 650- the main frame, twin shock absorbers, brakes, and swingarm are quick examples. It, however,  comes with new 19/18-inch wire-spoke wheels and a 43mm telescopic fork. The Classic 650 gets MRF Nylohigh tyres—100/90-19 at the front and 140/70-R18 at the rear, and a 14.8-litre fuel tank.

For instrumentation, there is a digi-analogue display that features a gear position indicator and includes the Tripper navigation pod. There are adjustable levers as well. Available colours are Vallam Red, Bruntingthorpe Blue, Teal, and Black Chrome. You will be able to see this motorcycle at Motoverse in Goa. India launch will likely happen in February 2025.

Himalayan EV 2.0

EICMA Reveals By Royal Enfield, Hero MotoCorp, Aprilia, KTM, Ducati And BMW

Royal Enfield surprised the crowd at EICMA with an appearance by the ‘Himalayan Electric 2.0’ prototype, an all-electric concept of its popular ADV.

Also referred to as “Him E,” it is currently a test platform rather than a production model. RE’s top hat Siddhartha Lal clarified that there are no immediate plans to launch the Himalayan Electric 2.0 as a commercial product, as it is being used primarily to test and develop new technologies in the EV space.

The prototype was previously seen undergoing rigorous testing in the challenging Himalayan terrain, showcasing its durability. Equipped with distinctive features like gold-coloured wire-spoke wheels, a sturdy swingarm, front and rear disc brakes, and a tall windscreen, the bike maintains the robust aesthetic of adventure motorcycles. The riding position is tall and upright, suited for long touring rides. It also includes an LED round headlamp, an updated user interface for the instrument console, and electronic suspension.

A prototype video highlighted the potential of an electric Himalayan, underscoring Royal Enfield’s interest in adapting its adventure bikes for an EV future, though a market-ready launch of the Himalayan Electric 2.0 may still be a long way off.

Aprilia

Aprilia Tuono 457

EICMA Reveals By Royal Enfield, Hero MotoCorp, Aprilia, KTM, Ducati And BMW

A year after unveiling the RS 457, Aprilia has debuted the Tuono 457, a naked variant that shares the same core design and components while offering a fresh take on style and ergonomics. It is powered by the same 457cc twin-cylinder engine delivering 47.6hp and 43.5Nm. It comes with a 6-speed gearbox, a slipper clutch, and an optional bidirectional quick-shifter. Other elements like the electronic aids, frame, suspension, and braking systems remain consistent between the two models.

The primary visual distinction of the Tuono 457 lies in its headlight design, which veers away from the RS’s styling to adopt a unique look. Although it retains three separate pods, the shape of the DRLs is more compact, and the central pod, which houses the main headlight, gives the Tuono a signature style within the Aprilia lineup. Another difference is the slightly smaller 12.7-litre fuel tank, though both models weigh the same at 175 kg.

The bike will also come with various accessories, such as saddlebags, a tank bag, brake and clutch lever protectors, sintered brake pads, and a pillion-seat cowl. As a made-in-India model, it is expected to debut in the Indian market early next year, likely priced below the RS 457.

Ducati

Panigale V2 and Streetfighter V2

EICMA Reveals By Royal Enfield, Hero MotoCorp, Aprilia, KTM, Ducati And BMW

Ducati has unveiled the all-new 2025 Panigale V2 and Streetfighter V2- both powered by a new 890cc, 90-degree V-twin engine. This produces 120hp and 93.3Nm of torque, a noticeable decrease compared to the outgoing 955cc Superquadro engine, which delivered over 150hp. However, the company has prioritized weight reduction in these new models, with both being significantly lighter than their predecessors. The Panigale V2 S weighs 176kg, while the Streetfighter V2 S is 175kg—down from nearly 200kg for the older models.

These bikes feature an Aluminium monocoque frame and a conventional double-sided swingarm, deviating from the single-sided swingarm seen on previous Ducatis. Both come with 15-litre fuel tanks, with seat heights of 837mm for the Panigale V2 and 838mm for the Streetfighter V2.

There are two variants for both bikes: the standard and the higher-spec S. The standard variants are equipped with a fully adjustable Marzocchi fork and KYB mono-shock, while the S variant gets premium Öhlins suspension at both ends. The S variants come with a single-seat configuration, while the base models have provisions for a pillion seat. The base versions are around 3kg heavier than the S variants.

EICMA Reveals By Royal Enfield, Hero MotoCorp, Aprilia, KTM, Ducati And BMW

Pirelli Diablo Rosso 4 tyres are used, with sizes of 120/70-ZR17 for the front and 190/55-ZR17 for the rear. Brembo M50 monobloc callipers are mated to 320mm discs for top-notch braking performance.

An optional tech pack is available, which further adds cruise control, lap timer, turn-by-turn navigation, and heated grips. Rider information is displayed on a 5-inch TFT dash.

These new Ducati models are expected to launch in India next year, and with the reduction in engine size and power, they are likely to be priced lower than their outgoing counterparts.

BMW Motorrad

Concept F 450 GS

EICMA Reveals By Royal Enfield, Hero MotoCorp, Aprilia, KTM, Ducati And BMW

BMW has unveiled the concept F 450 GS, hinting at an upcoming small-capacity adventure bike in the not-so-distant future. Although the exact engine displacement is yet to be confirmed, the name suggests 450cc. It is expected to produce 48hp, with BMW claiming a weight “close to 175kg” for the concept.

One of the intriguing aspects of the new engine is its firing order, which is not the typical 270-degree used in the current-gen F-series twin-cylinder engines. Instead, it might have a firing order that mimics a 270-degree crank, similar to KTM’s parallel-twin engines. This is expected to provide a broad spread of torque from low revs.

The Concept F 450 GS features a design that includes a headlight inspired by the larger R 1300 GS, along with a 6.5-inch TFT display, cross-spoke wheels, and fully adjustable suspension. However, it remains to be seen how much of this high-spec equipment will make it to the production model, which is expected in 2025.

2025 BMW M 1000 RR (M RR)

EICMA Reveals By Royal Enfield, Hero MotoCorp, Aprilia, KTM, Ducati And BMW

The M1000 RR, aimed at track enthusiasts, now sees an increase in power from 212 hp to 218 hp, with its top speed remaining the same at 314 kmph. One of the key updates is the new M winglets 3.0, which are larger and made entirely of carbon fibre. These generate 30 kg of downforce at 300 km/h, up from the previous 22.6 kg.

The engine now features titanium valves, has a higher compression ratio, and comes with redesigned intake and exhaust ports for improved performance. Additionally, the flex frame has been refined with better stiffness in the steering head area, and a mounting point on the left side of the engine has been relocated to improve handling.

BMW has also enhanced the electronics, adding steering angle sensor technology that improves the dynamic traction control system. This leads to new features like slide control and brake slide assist, which offer greater control and performance. It will be available in two trims: Standard and Competition.

2025 BMW S 1000 RR

EICMA Reveals By Royal Enfield, Hero MotoCorp, Aprilia, KTM, Ducati And BMW

The new S 1000 RR gets a revised front end with a new cowl and asymmetric side panels. On the right side, there are new gills, while the left side features an exit vent. The winglets have also been redesigned, and the front wheel cover now integrates brake ducts to enhance cooling, especially while riding on a track. The downforce at 300 km/h has been increased from 17.1 kg to 23.1 kg.

The motorcycle will be offered in three trims: Standard, Pro, and Pro M, with prices likely ranging from ₹ 20.75 lakh to ₹ 25.25 lakh (ex-showroom). India launch of both these motorcycles could commence soon.
