Now, despite being forgotten by most, a number of people still own these iconic bikes, and we thought we should bring to you the sounds of the exhausts of these bikes. Rajdoot 175
First off, we have the Rajdoot 175, or the Excel T. This two-stroke bike was known for its raspy exhaust. The exhaust note of this popular motorcycle made it very popular among young bikers. It came powered by a 173cc, single-cylinder, two-stroke engine. This motor made 9.8 bhp and 13.5 Nm of torque.
Yamaha RD350
The Yamaha RD350, or the Rajdoot 350, is truly an icon in the Indian motorcycle market. It became extremely popular due to its tag of being India’s most powerful two-stroke motorcycle. This motorcycle came equipped with a twin-exit exhaust, with each one located on either side of the bike.
Together, these exhaust pipes created a deep symphony that many people loved. It came powered by a 347cc, twin-cylinder, two-stroke engine. This motor made 30.5 bhp and 32.3 Nm of torque.
Jawa 350
Back in the 1970s, the Jawa 350 was a popular motorcycle that came with a twin-exit exhaust. It was so popular that the company, after its revival, has now once again launched this model in India. Unfortunately, the new model does not sound as great as the old one. The original Jawa 350 had a thunderous exhaust note, which now has become extremely muffled due to emission norms.
The original bike came powered by a 343cc, twin-cylinder, two-stroke engine. This engine was capable of producing 22 bhp and 32 Nm of torque. Even today, a number of biking enthusiasts have these bikes and have restored them to their factory specifications.
Enfield Fury
Today, we know Royal Enfield for producing bikes with big engines. But back in the day, the company used to make a few lightweight motorcycles with smaller engines. Of these motorcycles, one of the very popular ones was the Enfield Fury, which came with a 163cc, single-cylinder, two-stroke engine. The Rajdoot Bobby was a small bike that gained a lot of fame after being featured in the movie Bobby. This iconic mini bike came powered by a 173cc, single-cylinder, two-stroke engine. It produced around 9.8 bhp and 13.5 Nm of torque. Although it looked very quirky, it still had a deep rumbling sound, which was very majestic.
Suzuki Shogun
Another two-stroke legend from back in the day is the Suzuki Shogun. This 108cc, single-cylinder, two-stroke-engined motorcycle, which made 14 bhp and 11.4 Nm of torque, was known for its stylish looks and iconic sound. It was marketed as the “Boss” of two-stroke bikes in India.
Suzuki Shaolin 140
The Suzuki Shaolin 140 was one of the most popular bikes among the younger generation at the time. It was known for its high-pitch exhaust. The Shaolin 140 came equipped with a 138.2cc, single-cylinder, two-stroke engine. It made a total of 14 bhp and 12 Nm of torque, which at the time was very impressive.
Suzuki Samurai
Another popular Suzuki two-stroke motorcycle was the Samurai. It came powered by a reliable and fuel-efficient 98cc two-stroke engine. It made 7.5 bhp and 9.8 Nm of torque. This bike was also known for its raspy exhaust note.
Yezdi Roadking 250
Like the other Yezdi motorcycles of this era, the RoadKing was also equipped with twin exhausts. It had a very distinct deep note, which became as iconic as this motorcycle. The Yezdi Roadking came powered by a 248.5cc, single-cylinder, two-stroke engine. It produced 16 bhp and 24 Nm of torque.
Kawasaki Bajaj KB100
Last but not least, we have the Kawasaki Bajaj KB100 two-stroke motorcycle. This forgotten legend was known for its stylish looks and agility. Its mesmerizing exhaust note is still remembered by its true fans. The KB100 came powered by a 98cc, single-cylinder, two-stroke motor, which made 10.5 bhp and 9.8 Nm of torque.
