Hero Motocorp's Vida VX2 Electric Scooter Leaked Ahead Of July 1st Launch

Hero Motocorp forayed into the electric two-wheeler business by launching a dedicated EV vertical called Vida in 2022. At present, the Vida brand has three products in its portfolio - V2 Pro, V2 Plus and V2 Lite. Hero Motocorp has plans to expand this further by introducing two new models which will have affordable price tags when launched. These electric two-wheelers will launch on July 1, 2025- confirm reports.
The company intends to lower the access point to its Vida range. Now, the most affordable product in the range has an ex-showroom price of Rs 74,000. The proposed launches could bring this further down. The company plans to scale up its electric two-wheeler volumes in the upcoming time.
Hero will reportedly base these affordable electric two-wheelers on a new cost-effective EV platform called the ACPD. Under this project, the ex-showroom price of the Vida scooter is expected to come down and stand closer to the ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) scooter prices.
At present, Vida manufactures around 7,000 units per month. With the new ACPD-based products joining the game, Hero expects this to reach 13,000-15,000 units per month. The company even plans to scale it up to 20,000 later this year.
Autocar Professional, in an exclusive, reported that Vida has plans to launch a dozen new models in the upcoming years. The proposed lineup will not be limited to scooters alone, and will span across segments and body styles like dirt bikes, high-performance motorcycles, and scooters.
The planned lineup of affordable two-wheelers, according to the publication, includes an electric motorcycle based on the popular Splendor and an electric scooter.
Vida is reportedly developing the Splendor EV at its technology center, CIT, Jaipur. The project is named AEDA, and could have its market debut in 2027. The manufacturer intends it to be a volume seller, when launched.
The electric scooter in the pipeline, is a new, more affordable version of the Vida V2, known as the ACPD project. Some reports say that it will likely be called the VX2 upon launch. Hero has, however, refrained from commenting on this or revealing anything around the product. We expect to learn more about it in the coming weeks.
Interestingly, Hero Vida has also confirmed the launch of the recently revealed Vida Z, for July 2025. Some reports suggest that the VX2 could be the same product, but with a different name. We lack clarity on this, though it could very much be the case!
Hero Motocorp had revealed the Vida Z for the first time at the EICMA 2024. It was introduced as manufacturer's first EV for the European market. Rumours and anticipations of a possible India launch have been around, ever since. We even came across multiple spy shots of the vehicle being evaluated in India.
When launched, the Vida Z will sit below the current V2 lineup, as a more affordable offering. It gets a clean design and smooth, even body panels. Notable design elements include a rectangular headlamp, stepped single-piece seat with an rear backrest, and a trapezoidal tail lamp. The scooter showcased at EICMA also had a small TFT dashboard and a front storage compartment.
The production form of Vida Z is expected to have removable battery packs. The base variant will likely get a 2.2 kWh unit while the range-topping variant will have 3.4 kWh. The range is claimed to be a healthy 100 km per charge. The powertrain output could stand a touch below what's offered on the V2.
