2024 has been quite eventful for KTM. From going nearly bankrupt to announcing more products in the budget segments, the Austrian brand has come a long way. The manufacturer revealed its India-bound lineup of bikes at IBW 2024 on December 6. Here are all the details of 3 new affordable KTM adventure bikes that are expected to arrive next year.
New KTM 390 Adventure
The next generation 390 ADV was showcased for the first time in India at the India Bike Week, alongside the 390 Enduro R. With their menacing stance and attractive designs, these bikes gathered a lot of attention. KTM has now started accepting pre-bookings for these bikes, as announced on its various social media handles. You can now reserve your new 390 ADV at authorised dealerships across India.
The 2025 390 Adventure would be available in two distinct forms- the lower-priced X and the higher-spec S. IBW had the S variant on display. The full-blown 390 Adventure R would not make it to the Indian shores any time soon. The Adventure X will have a 19-inch wheel at the front and a 17-inch unit at the rear.
The higher-spec 390 Adventure S will have bigger wheels- 21-inch/18-inch spoked wheels. Rumours suggest that the manufacturer is working on tubeless spoked wheels, but we lack clarity on this yet. The Adventure R will be the top-spec 390 ADV motorcycle, with 21-inch front/ 17-inch rear wheels, adjustable WP Apex suspension, TFT display, and Cruise control. These vehicles will be powered by the new 390’s liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine.
The base variant of the new Adventure 390 will have a rather approachable seat height- 820 mm. The S variant will likely have a higher seat height. KTM 390 Adventure will launch in January 2025.
Expected Price: 3.8 Lakh
KTM 390 Enduro
The 390 Enduro will be KTM’s try at making an off-road capable motorcycle. It will have a minimal dirt-bike style bodywork, a long flat seat, and long travel suspension. It will likely launch in October 2025 with an expected price of 3.4-3.5 lakh rupees. The QJ Motor SRK 400, KTM 390 Duke & Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 will be the key rivals. The Enduro has been spied on test in India. The bike will have the same design philosophy as the bigger Enduros and will ride on 21-18-inch spoke wheel combination. The seat height will thus be tall and ground clearance high.
This motorcycle will have the same 398.63cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine from the all-new Duke 390 that likely makes 45.3bhp and 39Nm. It remains to be seen if the state of tune would differ upon launch.
Expected Price: 3.4 Lakh
390 SMC R Supermoto
KTM is also expected to launch the 390 SMC R Supermoto in India sometime in 2025. The motorcycle was previously showcased at EICMA 2024, and was recently spotted on test in India, confirming an imminent arrival. The 390 Supermoto will be powered by the same engine as the two bikes discussed above. It could, however, come with a slightly different final drive ratio.
The Supermoto showcased at EICMA had 17-inch wire-spoke wheels. Spy shots do not reveal much about the design. The rider triangle would be rather upright, fitting the Supermoto character. This could turn out to be a niche product as the Supermoto space is more or less unexplored in India. We have had just big capacity Supermotos here. Bringing it down to the sub-500cc segment could bring attention to the body type and the experience it delivers.
Expected Price: 3.5 Lakh
