Ola Electric Begins Test Rides of Roadster X Electric Motorcycle [Video]

Ola Electric started commencing deliveries of the much-awaited Roadster X electric motorcycle on May 23, 2025. The company's first electric motorcycle comes in two different iterations- the X and the X+. Ola has now begun test rides of these at various dealerships across India. Videos of the same have now surfaced.
Users have been actively sharing videos of test riding the Roadster X and X+. Most of them show how fast the acceleration is. The Roadster X+ 4.5 kWh version can go from 0 to 40 kmph in just 3.1 seconds. The top-speed of this variant is 118 kph. The claimed range is 252 km per charge (IDC).
Another video shows a White Roadster X being ridden on a highway. The motorcycle here, had Red TC (trade certificate) plates and is most likely a dealer inventory that's out on a test ride.
A video from West Bengal shows a man riding the Roadster X in the evening. We see it touching triple-digit speeds and then shedding speed. Since the action takes place at dusk, we can also see how well the bike's LED headlamps function.
The deliveries of the motorcycle got delayed multiple times due to several reasons. They were originally slated to commence by late April. However, the company reportedly couldn't get the homologation completed on time. It has now received pending homologation approval from various authorities.
Making the Roadster a sweeter deal, the first 5,000 owners will get benefits worth Rs 10,000. These include extended warranty, MoveOS+, and essential care. These are in fact, part of Ola's Ride The Future campaign. At launch, the Roadster X (2.5 kWh) variant had an ex-showroom price of Rs 89,999, the 3.5 kWh cost Rs 99,999, and the 4.5 kWh had a sticker price of Rs 1,09,999.
Since the introductory prices are no longer available, the current prices stand at Rs 99,999 (2.5 kWh), Rs 1,09,999 (3.5 kWh), and Rs 1,24,999 (4.5 kWh) respectively. The Roadster X+ range starts at Rs 1,29,000 for the 4.5 kWh variant. The higher-spec, 9.1 kWh variant has an ex-showroom price of 1.99 lakh.
The Roadster X gets a streetfighter-inspired design and features sleek LED headlights, slim body panels and futuristic styling. It looks good from most angles. It comes with a single-piece seat and a solid grab rail at the back for the pillion. The body lines are sharp and will strike you right in the first glance. The rider triangle and handlebar positioning seem to be well thought out for everyday comfort.
Now, let’s talk performance. The regular Roadster X is powered by a 7 kW (14 hp) electric motor that can make it hit a top speed of 118 kmph. It is this that we saw in the above video. The 0 to 40 kmph time is pretty impressive for an e-bike, as well. Depending on the variant, you get different battery options — 2.5 kWh, 3.5 kWh, and 4.5 kWh. The mid-range version claims a certified range of 252 km on a full charge.
The Roadster X+ turns things up a notch. It gets an 11 kW motor that does 0 to 40 kmph in just 2.7 seconds. The top-end version with the 9.1 kWh battery promises a whopping 501 km range, thanks to Ola’s in-house developed Bharat 4680 cells. These cells are claimed to maximise packaging and energy efficiencies.
If the Roadster lineup lives up to the hype, it could change how people look at electric motorcycles in India. Of course, we have performance products like the Ultraviolette F77 range, but there is enough untapped in the budget e-bike space...
