Bike Culture in India has grown over the decades. While people are buying expensive bikes, there is a category of riders known for their reckless riding style. These riders often end up in accidents and are also a reason why people have a bad impression of bikers. Here we have one such video where a bunch of bikers narrowly escaped getting crushed under a truck after hitting a cycle rickshaw.

The video has been shared by driver.00 on their Instagram channel. The exact location of the accident and the video is not known at the moment. It looks like the bikers were on a ride when this happened. It was recorded by one of the riders in the group. It seems the group was riding on a narrow highway when this happened.
A couple of riders were in the front riding in the left lane. There was a truck in the right lane which meant they could not ride in that lane. The rider at the front probably got distracted or was riding too fast. He failed to see a cycle rickshaw that was carrying a sheet at the back. The biker crashed into the rickshaw or the sheet.
He did apply the brakes, but we feel it was too late by then. The biker lost control almost immediately after hitting the rickshaw. Even the rickshaw rider lost control. The biker fell onto another biker, and they all lost control. They were probably riding too close to each other and were not expecting anything like this to happen.
One of the bikes fell right in front of the truck. The truck driver tried his best to move the truck away from the bike. The biker was thrown from the bike, and the truck went over not just one but two bikes. Both bikers narrowly escaped getting crushed under the truck.
The rickshaw driver who got hit from the rear also escaped narrowly. It looks like the bikers were riding fast and in a hurry to overtake the trucks. They failed to notice the sheet that was hanging out of the rickshaw and simply crashed into it, falling onto other bikers. In this case, both the bikers and the rickshaw driver are to be blamed.
The rickshaw driver could have used a red cloth or any other sign at the rear to ensure that people coming from behind noticed the hanging sheet and maintained a safe distance.
The bikers should have maintained a safe speed and waited for a clear gap to overtake the trucks. The truck drivers were driving in the right lane as driving such huge vehicles in the left lane, especially on four-lane highways, is challenging due to bikers and rickshaw riders like this.
Ideally, the trucks should be in the left lane, but due to slow-moving vehicles like bikes and rickshaws, they are forced to drive in the right lane on such narrow highways. There was nothing the truck driver could have done in this case. It was simply pure luck that the riders escaped with only minor injuries.
