Loads of online buzz surrounds the upcoming Royal Enfield Bear 650 scrambler. The motorcycle is set to make its global premiere at EICMA on November 5, 2024. Various images and videos are already out, pumping up anticipations. We now have the US prices of the Bear 650, and the same has helped us do our Math and arrive at the possible India prices. We expect it to be Rs 40,000- 50,000 more expensive than the Interceptor, and the prices could be around 3.5 lakh. Let’s take a deep dive …
The INT 650 (The Interceptor is called INT in the US, owing to trademark concerns) has a starting price of $6,149 in the United States. Considering the current exchange rates, this translates to around 5.2 lakh. In India, the ex-showroom price is 3.02 lakh. This marks a difference of 2.15 lakh.
Now let us consider the other 650 motorcycles- Continental GT, Shotgun and the Super Meteor. The GT 650 is priced from $6,349 in the US, translating to 5.34 lakh INR. The Indian price starts at 3.18 lakh, ex-showroom- marking a difference of 2.12 lakh.
Similarly, the Shotgun 650 also has a 2.17 lakh difference between the exchange rate-based price ( 5.8 lakh) and actual Indian ex-showroom price (3.63 lakh) as the motorcycle has a price of $6,899 in the US market.
In America, the Super Meteor is the most expensive of the 650s, commanding a whopping 6,999 USD in price. This would mean 5.9 lakh as per the current exchange rate. However, the India-spec is priced from 3.63 lakh, denoting a 2.25 lakh difference.
It seems to be safe to assume around a 2 lakh difference for the Bear as well. It has a price of $6849 in the United states- 5.8 lakh Indian rupees. Considering various factors, the difference between this and the actual Indian pricing could be 2.3 lakh. If so, Royal Enfield could launch the Bear 650 in India with prices starting from 3.5 lakh, ex-showroom! Considering the current competitive nature of the segment, it is very likely for the manufacturer to adopt an aggressive pricing strategy.

Considering the Interceptor range begins at 3.02 lakh, the hike could amount to an odd 50K.
