Royal Enfield made a splash at EICMA 2024 with the launch of three exciting new models: the Bear 650, Classic 650, and Flying Flea C6. Their pavilion also showcased a variety of custom builds, accessories, and concepts that celebrate motorcycling culture. Let’s take a closer look at these…

Classic 650

The Classic 650 is the sixth addition to Royal Enfield’s 650 cc lineup. It maintains the brand’s signature ‘Classic’ look with features like a round headlight, a tear-drop fuel tank, and rounded fenders. The bike comes with a one-piece seat, and there’s an option for a pillion seat as well.

This motorcycle shares its frame and components with the Shotgun 650. It features durable rear twin shock absorbers for a comfortable ride, along with telescopic front forks and wire-spoke wheels for stability.

Powered by the familiar 648 cc parallel-twin engine, it delivers 47 hp and 52.3 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox that includes a slip and assist clutch. Weighing 243 kg, it is the heaviest in the 650 cc range, with an 800 mm seat height and a 14.8-litre fuel tank.

For features, it includes a mix of digital and analogue displays, adjustable levers, USB charging, full LED lights, and dual-channel ABS. It is available in the following colours: Teal, Vallam Red, Black Chrome, and Bruntingthorpe Blue. Bookings in India will begin in January 2025, with deliveries expected in February.

Bear 650

Next up is the Bear 650, which has finally launched in India, priced between ₹3.39 lakh and ₹3.59 lakh. This scrambler blends classic style with rugged performance, inspired by 1960s scramblers designed for off-road adventures.

It shares the same platform and engine as the Interceptor 650 but features improved suspension and wheels for a better experience. The Bear 650 has a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel, along with a Showa USD fork for better handling on rough terrain. With a ground clearance of 184 mm and a seat height of 830 mm, it is the tallest Royal Enfield model in the 650 cc range.

The 648 cc parallel-twin engine produces 47 hp and 56.5 Nm of torque. It is equipped with MRF Nylorex tyres and features like a TFT display, USB-C charging, and full LED lighting. The Bear 650 will be available in five colours: Wild Honey, Petrol Green, Golden Shadow, Boardwalk White, and Two Four Nine. Bookings and test rides start on November 10, 2024, with deliveries expected later that month.

Flying Flea C6

The Flying Flea C6 is Royal Enfield’s first electric motorcycle. It pays homage to the original Flying Flea from the 1940s and is designed to be compact and agile—perfect for urban riding.

This electric bike showcases a retro-futuristic style with a round LED headlamp and unique front girder forks. It has a lightweight forged aluminium frame, and the low seat height combined with comfortable ergonomics enhances its usability.

The Flying Flea C6 will include modern features such as a TFT touchscreen, cornering ABS, and traction control. The model showcased is a solo seater, while a pillion seat could be offered as an optional accessory. It is expected to deliver a range of 100 to 150 km on a full charge, with more details about the battery and motor yet to be revealed.

Himalayan EV 2.0

Royal Enfield could also debut the Himalayan EV 2.0 at EICMA. This model is an improvement over the first Himalayan EV prototype shown at last year’s EICMA. It brings substantial updates in both design and functionality, positioning it as a serious contender in the growing electric adventure motorcycle segment.

The Himalayan EV 2.0 takes design cues from the Himalayan 450, featuring a similar windscreen, round LED headlight, and tail light. The battery and motor are seamlessly integrated to maintain an adventure-ready look. The styling merges elements of an ADV and rally bike. Notable features include gold-coloured wire-spoke rims, a sturdy swingarm, and disc brakes on both ends, with a tall and upright seating position in line with ADV ergonomics.

While details on the battery and motor remain undisclosed, Royal Enfield has confirmed that the EV employs a newly designed motor and battery, ensuring improved performance over the previous prototype. The new design also includes a user-friendly digital display and electronic suspension.

Himalayan Rally Edition

Lastly, the Himalayan 450 Rally Edition was also revealed at EICMA 2024. This model is designed for off-road enthusiasts and has been tested in challenging conditions, including competitive rallies. The motorcycle will also make an appearance at Motoverse 2024 in Goa later this year.

The tail rack and grab rails have been removed for a sleeker appearance. It features USD forks up front and a mono-shock rear suspension. It also has spoked rims and an upswept exhaust. The Rally Edition shares its core underpinnings and powertrain with the standard Himalayan 450, powered by a 452 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 40 bhp and 40 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
