It’s happening, an ADV motorcycle from TVS Motors is finally happening. We broke the story recently on the sidelines of the MotoSoul 4.0, and here’s the first spy video of TVS Motors’ next big thing. The adventure motorcycle will rival the likes of the Yezdi Adventure and the Suzuki V-Strom 250.

The new TVS Apache ADV 300 will be launched sometime in 2025. It’ll use the just-unveiled 300cc, liquid cooled RTX D4 four stroke engine. This motor gets twin overhead camshafts (DOHC), dual jacket cooling (for the head and piston), four valves, fuel injection, downdraft intake, and is paired a 6 speed gearbox equipped with a slipper clutch.
In a nutshell, it’s the most advanced engine that TVS Motors has built on its own. Yes, no inputs from BMW Motorrad here. This is an all-new engine completely developed by TVS Motors for use in a range of new motorcycles starting with the Apache ADV 300. The engine makes about 35 Bhp of peak power and 28.5 Nm of peak torque.
It has a short stroke (78 mm bore and 62 mm stroke), which means that it will be quite rev happy. TVS Motors did reveal that the peak power came in at about 9,000 rpm while peak torque came in at about 7,500 rpm.
Coming to other bits that have been revealed through the spy video, the motorcycle in question gets a tall fairing, ostensibly for highway touring, and from the looks of it, is more of a sports tourer than an off roader. We say this thanks to the alloy wheels it comes with. The set up seems like a 19 inch front and a 17 inch rear – perfect for sport touring rather than off road riding.
Then there’s the split seats, with the pillion seat set significantly higher than the rider seat, which seems scooped out to offer a very manageable seat height. This again indicates that the Apache ADV seems designed for touring rather than off road riding.
Some other interesting bits include upside down front forks, a monoshock rear, auxiliary lights, a split headlamp, a large exhaust, block pattern tyres and a large top box. The motorcycle seems in an advanced state of production readiness, and TVS Motors should be able to bring it to the market fairly quickly.
We expect TVS Motors to use the new engine in the Apache RR 310 as well the RTR 310 models going forward, in either the same spec or probably with slightly more displacement. This is because BMW Motorrad plans to retire the G310 range that’s manufactured by TVS here in India, for the Indian and global markets. The new engine will basically replace the G310 motor from BMW Motorrad, and will allow TVS to deploy it in a range of new motorcycles.
BMW Motorrad, for its part, will migrate to a new F450 platform. The F450 platform is based on a 450cc parallel twin motor, which gets a very unique 125 degree firing order. The motor will make its debut in the middle of 2025 in India, in the BMW F 450 GS adventure motorcycle.
The same engine will also be the base around which BMW Motorrad builds a range of new entry level motorcycles such as a roadster and a fully faired supersport bike. The motor makes about 48 Bhp of peak power and 45 Nm of peak torque, and gets a 6 speed manual gearbox with a slipper clutch.
It will be built by TVS Motors at Hosur, and then fitted to BMW Motorrad bikes that again will be built by TVS. The strategy will be similar to what BMW and TVS adopted for the G310 range. We can’t wait!
