TVS Motor Company has revealed the 2025 version of its neo-retro motorcycle, the Ronin, at the 4th edition of its annual MotoSoul event in Vagator, Goa. While the new model maintains its core mechanical specifications, it brings notable updates in safety features and aesthetics, with sales set to begin in January 2025.

The most significant upgrade comes to the mid-variant Ronin DS, which now features dual-channel ABS, a safety feature previously reserved for only the top-spec variant. This enhancement aims to provide better braking control and improved safety for riders choosing the middle trim level.

In terms of visual updates, TVS has introduced two new color schemes while discontinuing some existing ones. The new Glacier Silver option features striking golden accents on both the fuel tank and side panels, complementing the gold-finished front forks.

The second new addition, Charcoal Ember, brings a sophisticated dual-tone design combining blue and metallic silver, accented with red stripes on the fuel tank and side panels. These new colors replace the previously available Delta Blue and Stargaze Black options.

The 2025 Ronin continues to be powered by the same 225.9cc oil-cooled single-cylinder engine, producing 20 bhp of power at 7,750 rpm and 19.93 Nm of torque at 3,750 rpm. The power is transmitted through a 5-speed gearbox equipped with an assist and slipper clutch. The motorcycle retains its comfortable 795mm seat height and practical 181mm ground clearance.

The suspension setup remains unchanged, featuring 41mm upside-down front forks and a rear mono-shock with 7-step adjustable preload. The braking system continues with a 300mm disc at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear, now with the added benefit of dual-channel ABS on more variants.

TVS will continue to offer the Ronin in multiple variants – SS, DS, TD, and TD Special Edition. While the current (2024) pricing starts from Rs 1.35 lakh for the base SS variant and goes up to Rs 1.73 lakh for the TD Special Edition (all prices ex-showroom), the 2025 TVS Ronin pricing is likely to be revealed January alongside the market launch.

The Ronin goes head-to-head with popular models like the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and Jawa 42. What sets the Ronin apart is its unique positioning as a modern-retro motorcycle that blends elements of both a cruiser and a scrambler. This distinctive approach gives it a character different from its more traditionally styled competitors.

The Ronin stands out with its modern features, including LED lighting, a digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, and TVS’s SmartXonnect technology in the top variant. The motorcycle also offers practical features like Glide Through Traffic technology, which helps in managing slow-speed riding in urban conditions.

Speaking at the unveiling, Vimal Sumbly, Head Business – Premium at TVS Motor Company, emphasized the brand’s commitment to enhancing the motorcycling experience. He highlighted how events like MotoSoul 2024, themed ‘Feel the Adrenaline, Feel the Inspiration, Feel the Groove,’ help strengthen the connection between riders and their machines while building a community around the brand.
