We have observed members of the Ambani family arriving at functions in their expensive cars; rarely have we seen them travel in less expensive vehicles. In a video uploaded by Manav Manglani on Reddit, Isha Ambani and her husband, industrialist Anand Piramal, are seen arriving in a Toyota Camry sedan for a dinner event in Mumbai.

Surprisingly, the car they chose was nothing fancy – a Toyota Camry premium sedan. Just like the Innova and Fortuner, the Camry is also a very popular Toyota car among buyers from around the world, and it was available for sale in India too. The one seen in the video is actually an older generation model. As usual, the car was accompanied by several security vehicles such as the Mahindra XUV500, MG Gloster, and other SUVs.

In the video, Isha Ambani can be seen getting out of the car and simply walking into the building without interacting with the photographers outside. Similar to other Toyota products, the Camry is also known for its reliability. This premium sedan was sold in India for around Rs 45 lakh, ex-showroom, and competed with cars like the Honda Accord Hybrid, which was available for sale for a short period. Many people looking for a reliable and luxurious sedan without spending a lot had bought the Toyota Camry back then. Even today, there are a decent number of Camry sedans available in the used car market.

The Toyota Camry was not only reliable and luxurious but also efficient, boasting an ARAI claimed fuel economy of around 19.16 kmpl, which was remarkable, especially for a petrol car. The reason behind the Camry’s good fuel economy figures was simply because it was a hybrid. The term “strong hybrid” is getting popular among car buyers now, but Toyota has been offering a strong hybrid system in their cars for a long time. The Camry was a strong hybrid sedan, which meant the petrol engine would work along with an electric motor to make the car more efficient.

The Camry Hybrid is powered by a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with a CVT automatic gearbox. The engine generates 171 bhp & 221 Nm of peak torque. The electric motor alone generates 119 bhp and 202 Nm of peak torque. The combined power and torque output on this sedan is 215 bhp & 221 Nm. The car comes with regenerative braking and an idle stop-start system to enhance its efficiency. As for the features, the Camry offers leather seats, triple-zone automatic climate control, rear AC vents, 10-way adjustable electric ventilated seats for the driver and passenger, electric recline for the rear seat, rear armrest with cup holders and audio controls, electric sunroof, and more.
