The German luxury automaker BMW has launched the newest iteration of the Coupe SUV X4 in India at a starting price of Rs 70,50,000. The Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) from BMW has been updated with new design elements, equipment, and features. The new X4 will be only available in an exclusive ‘Black Shadow’ edition in limited numbers. It will be offered in only one trim and that will be the company’s famed M sport trim. The model will come with an option of a diesel or a petrol engine. The company also announced that the new X4 will be available in only two colours – Black Sapphire and M Brooklyn Grey metallic.
The distinctive sports activity coupe design of the new BMW X4 will feature the brand’s proprietary mesh kidney grille which in this model will have all-black mesh inserts and the frame will be finished in ‘M High Gloss Shadow line’. The X4 will also get a set of adaptive LED Headlamps which are now 10mm slimmer and flatter than the previous model. Additionally, it will come with an M Aerodynamic package which will feature components in body colour in the front and rear apron along with side sill covers along with vertical air intakes and bumper inserts in dark shadow metallic.
The new X4 will also come equipped with 20” light M alloy wheels with a double-spoke design and M Sport Brakes with red callipers. While on the rear, the model will come with a sporty bumper finished in dark shadow metallic colour with new anvil-shaped inlays in high gloss black and vertically arranged reflectors. In addition, it will get a set of two-part wrap-around LED rear taillights, along with a large automatic tailgate and wide free-form tailpipe in black colour.

Moving on to the interior of the new Coupe SUV, it will be finished in leather Vernasca upholstery with ‘Black’ decor stitching. The vehicle will get sports seats in the front that will come with a host of electrical adjustment options and memory functions. The layout of the dashboard will be similar to the newest X3 model and will feature an M leather steering wheel with ‘Walknappa’ black with black stitching and an M logo.
The model will also come equipped with a ton of luxury features like a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting and welcome carpet lights. It will also feature a three-zone climate control, two 12.3-inch displays, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a head-up display, and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. Additionally, a 525-litre boot that can be extended up to 1,430-litres by folding down the 40/20/40 split rear seat backrest will be offered.
In terms of safety equipment, the model will come with six airbags, Attentiveness Assistance, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Cornering Brake Control (CBC), electric parking brake with auto hold, side-impact protection, electronic vehicle immobilizer and crash sensor, ISOFIX child seat mounting and integrated emergency spare wheel under the load floor.
Powering the new X4 will be a 3.0-litre six-cylinder diesel engine that produces 261bhp and 620Nm of torque between 2,000 and 2,500 rpm in the xDrive30d M Sport variant. There will also be an X4 xDrive30i M Sport variant which, on the other hand, will feature a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that will deliver a max power output of 249bhp and 350Nm of torque between 1,450 and 4,800 rpm. The eight-speed Steptronic automatic gearbox is connected to both engine choices. The diesel variant can sprint from zero to 100 kilometres per hour in 5.8 seconds, while the petrol version can accomplish it in 6.6 seconds. As for the pricing the xDrive30i variant will be priced at Rs 70,50,000. Meanwhile, the xDrive30d will be priced at Rs 72,50,000.
