BMW has given the 7-Series luxury saloon a few new features. Dubbed the Signature Edition, the latest iteration of the luxury saloon wearing the propeller badge is priced at 1.22 crores rupees, ex-showroom Pan-India. Based on the 730 Ld variant, the Signature Edition of the car is 19 lakh rupees more expensive than the former.
For the extra wads of money, you get the following additional features/options,
- 16 speaker 1200 Watts Bang & Olufsen high-end surround sound system
- Active Steering with rear wheel steer
- Extended wood trims
- Nappa leather upholstery
- Individual rear reading lights
- 13 liter cool box
- Imperial Blue Brilliant Effect and Mineral White paint jobs
Therefore, the Signature Edition of the 7-Series saloon is a amalgam of mechanical and feature additions. The car is powered by a straight six, 3 liter turbo diesel engine that outputs 258 Bhp of peak power and 560 Nm of peak torque. An 8 speed automatic gearbox drives the rear wheels of the car. The 0-100 Kph sprint for the BMW 730 Ld is rated at 6.2 seconds, with a top speed electronically limited at 250 Kph.
The 730 Ld is BMW India’s best selling 7-Series variant given the car’s balanced performance and luxury. Also, the 730 Ld variant is the only car in the 7-Series line up to be assembled in India through the completely knocked down (CKD) kit route, allowing BMW to price it competitively. These factors make the 730 Ld variant the best selling 7-Series variant for BMW in India.
The other BMW 7-Series luxury saloon variants sold in India include the 740 Li petrol powered variant priced at 1.18 crore rupees, the recently launched ActiveHybrid variant priced at 1.35 crore rupees, the 75o Li turbo petrol powered variant priced at 1.4 crore rupees and the top-end, naturally aspirated V12 petrol engined 760 Li variant that is priced at 1.87 crore rupees.
