BMW has launched the affordable version of 5-Series M Sport in the form of 520d M Sport. Earlier available in only 530d M Sport trim, the new variant is available at Rs. 54 lakh (ex-showroom, across India).
The high-performance car draws power from the in-line four cylinder, 1,995 cc diesel engine that works to produce an impressive 195 Bhp of maximum power and 400 Nm of torque. The car takes only 7.7 seconds from standstill to reach 100 km/h. The 8-speed Steptronic dual clutch transmission makes the shifts efficient and instant and can be controlled through the paddle shifters on steering wheel. The car does a top speed of 233 km/h.
The sporty 5-Series gets M aerodynamics package as standard with 18-inch M light alloy wheels. There are side skirts, sports bumpers, exhaust pipe finish in Dark Chrome, and diffuser painted in Dark Shadow metallic paint. There are also adaptive LED headlights, and ‘M’ moniker around every corner of the body to announce its bloodline.
Inside, the car features electrically adjustable sport front seats wrapped in leather, multifunction steering wheel from M division, and many more fancy things.
The car also features 50:50 weight distribution that makes it a perfectly balanced car. There is also auto start/stop, driving modes, and brake energy regeneration as BMW EfficientDynamics package. Safety net includes six airbags, ABS, Dynamic Stability Control, Traction control, cornering brake control, hill descent and crash sensor.
The 5-Series M Sport competes with the likes of Audi S6 and Jaguar XF.
