BMW showrooms can now drive into your city

BMW has launched an innovative concept in selling cars, that of mobile showrooms, to reach out to cities where the company does not have dealerships at the moment. This mobile showroom is a temporary structure that the company can take to any town and set up, sell cars, and also get them serviced.

These mobile showrooms will consist of four cars on display and for test drives.  It will also have a reception area and a customer lounge. The cars for display and test drives at the BMW Mobile Showroom will include: the all-new BMW 3 Series, the BMW 5 Series, the BMW X1, the BMW X3, and the BMW X5. The BMW Mobile Showroom across different locations will also feature the BMW line-up of cars ranging from the BMW 7 Series and the BMW 6 Series to the BMW X6 and the BMW Z4, all of which are available in the country as CBUs (completely built-up) units.

The showrooms will be air-conditioned and weather proof and built in such a way as to emulate what a proper BMW dealership looks like, and yet can be dismantled and moved within a day.

Currently BMW has only 25 dealerships in India and is planning on expanding that to 40 dealerships by the end of 2012. These BMW mobile showrooms will soon visit Haryana, starting with the industrial town of Karnal, then go to Agra in Uttar Pradesh, Dehradun in Uttarakhand, Jamshedpur in Jharkhand, Patna in Bihar, Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh and Nashik in Maharashtra.

These cities have customers who are potential BMW owners, given the large number of industries and businesses that exist there. These mobile showrooms will also give 100% finance to customers across the range of cars, through BMW’s financial services arm.

If you are in a city that does not have a BMW showroom at the moment, you can call the company and find out when the showroom will reach your city. BMW will service cars that are sold through these showrooms, through its larger dealers in cities that have proper BMW dealerships. For instance, the BMW Chandigarh dealer will service cars that are sold through the showroom that’s being set up in Karnal in the next few days.
