Meant to transport four adults in comfort, the GranTurismo is one of those high-performance cars that can be used as a daily driver because of its relatively practical interiors. However, the stylish two door coupe form is retained which means that the typical Maserati flair is right there.

The car is powered by a 4.7 liter, naturally aspirated V8 petrol engine with 453 Bhp and 520 Nm on tap. To give you an idea of how special this car is, the V8 engine it features has done duty on Ferraris. Also, this engine is one of the few remaining naturally aspirated V8 petrols in the world even as most automakers have moved to turbocharged engines to clean up emissions.

The car uses a 6 speed automatic gearbox from ZF. Paddle shifters are standard and the gearbox drives the rear wheels of the car. The front engine-rear wheel drive combination is reponsible for giving the GranTurismo it’s famed handling prowess. This is a sportscar that will love to be cornered hard. The car weighs a hefty 1,800 Kgs, and is loaded with safety equipment.

Maserati imports the GranTurismo to India as a completely built unit (CBU) from Italy, the country where it’s built. The car is sold through Maserati’s three dealerships in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. Apart from the GranTurismo Sport, Maserati sells other cars such as the Ghibli luxury crossover, the Quattroporte sporty luxury sedan and the GranCabrio convertible.
